Knock Knock, Who's There?

Original air date: 4/23/2021 (produced in 2019) note

SpongeBob watches Mr. Krabs' house while he is away and goes to extreme measures to prevent burglary.

The episode contains examples of:

  • Balloonacy: When told by Mr. Krabs to not set foot in his bedroom, SpongeBob floats through the bedroom with a balloon tied to his back.
  • Batter Up!: Mr. Krabs gives SpongeBob a baseball bat as a security measure. Immediately afterwards, SpongeBob swings it around and beats himself up with it.
  • Big "WHAT?!": Mr. Krabs does this when he sees a fish enter the convention win a thousand dollars for being the 100th person to enter the building, which Mr. Krabs himself would have won had he just paid the 10 cents admission fee.
  • Comically Missing the Point: Upon learning Mr. Krabs is an organ doner, Patrick asks, "You play the organ?"
  • Easily Forgiven: Mr. Krabs was quick to forgive SpongeBob and Patrick for mistaking him for a burglar, in addition to refusing to be mad at SpongeBob because he still did the right thing at protecting the house.
  • Eye Scream: One of the traps sprays cologne in Mr. Krabs's eyes.
  • Here We Go Again!: At the end when Mr. Krabs finally gets into his house, Pearl is locked out and he won't let her in.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Mr. Krabs insisting that SpongeBob doesn't open the door for anybody bites him hard when he forgets his key and SpongeBob won't let him in.
  • Loophole Abuse: When Mr. Krabs forbids SpongeBob from setting foot in his room, SpongeBob gets around this by tying himself to a balloon and floating into Mr. Krabs room so he literally won't set foot in his room. Even when his balloon pops, he just walks on his hands.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: SpongeBob and Patrick felt this way upon realizing their intended house burglar was the real Mr. Krabs.
  • Reflective Eyes: Mr. Krabs's mouth reflects in SpongeBob's eyes when he's warning SpongeBob to not let anyone in his house.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Once Mr. Krabs arrives at the convention, he learns the attendees must pay an entrance fee of ten cents to enter; due to his hatred of spending money because he's a cheapskate, Mr. Krabs calls that a rip-off and decides to go home early.
  • Synchro-Vox: Happens when SpongeBob calls Patrick for help.

Pat Hearts Squid

Original air date: 7/9/2021 (produced in 2019) note

Squidward is forced to live at Patrick's house, but his dominant demeanor rubs off on Patrick more than desired.

The episode contains examples of:

  • Batman Gambit: After Patrick becomes the new Squidward, Squidward decides to become Patrick to turn him back to normal.
  • Comically Missing the Point: After Squidward's house is destroyed, SpongeBob asks him who he's gonna stay with.
Squidward: I wouldn't stay with either of you two idiots if the entire ocean was on fire and you were the only ones with water.
    Patrick: So, there's a chance.
  • Continuity Nod: This isn't the first time Squidward tried to change Patrick.
    • When Squidward stretches Patrick's face, he makes it look like Bold and Brash.
    • Squidward's dance moves are the same as the ones he did in Culture Shock.
  • Gone Horribly Right: Squidward tries to change Patrick to be more like him. It works a little too well.
  • Green Around the Gills: Happens to SpongeBob after Squidward's smelly cheese falls in front of him.
  • Here We Go Again!: Squidward's new house ends up falling onto Patrick's house, destroying both and forcing the two to stay with SpongeBob.
  • Idea Bulb: Squidward's head turns into a lightbulb before he changes Patrick's shorts into a shirt.
  • Produce Pelting: After Squidward's dance, he gets a tomato thrown at him. It's implied that Mr. Krabs was gonna do this to Patrick until seeing how good he was.
  • The Resenter: Over the course of time, Patrick becomes a perfect copy of Squidward. Perhaps, too perfect.
  • Shapeshifting: During the montage of Squidward teaching Patrick manners, he slowly turns the sea star into a copy of himself.
  • Superior Successor: Patrick turns out to be a better Squidward than Squidward himself. His art looks much nicer, his dance moves are more stylish, and his voice is more pleasant to listen to than that of the real Squidward.
