Original air date: 10/31/2018

The kids plan to use the latest revolution in mobility to get more candy on Halloween than they have ever gotten before. Meanwhile, the adults are hoarding emergency supplies and hoping to survive until morning.

Tropes:

  • A Day in the Limelight: After being Demoted to Extra for two seasons, Kenny gets to be the focus of this episode. Mr. Mackey also shares the leading role alongside Kenny.
  • All of the Other Reindeer: Because he doesn't have a smartphone required for this e-scooter scheme, Kenny is shunned by every group in school that he approaches.
  • Bait-and-Switch: When Kenny decides to go on the cellphone tower to hook it up to Mackey's car, it seems like he'll die once it falls. Instead, he winds up surviving the tower's collapse and gets his happy ending.
  • Continuity Nod:
    • Stan is not only still wearing his Tegridy Farms shirt but the Marsh family still live there as well.
    • The sign for Mr. Hankey's Holiday Pageant is seen, with the words "Cancelled" spray painted on.
    • Then there's the girls looking at Kenny with confusion when he asks to go trick-or-treating with them, signifying that while the Gender War is winding down (mainly due to Gerald ceasing his trolling activities), the girls are still wary of the boys.
  • Continuity Snarl: Apparently Kenny lacks a smartphone in this episode, despite using a smartphone to text in previous episodes and in the video game series.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: After everything he's gone through, Kenny gets to do what he wanted most: go trick-or-treating with his friends.
  • Easily Forgiven: When it's all over, Kenny invites Stan, Kyle, and Cartman to go trick-or-treating with him.
  • Egging: The adults of the town fear this will happen to their houses if they run out of candy for the trick-or-treaters.
  • The End... Or Is It?: Parodied. The final scene has an e-scooter get up on its own and drive off.
  • Greed: The trick-or-treaters don't care about getting 'enough' candy, just 'more than everybody else'.
    • When Stan, Kyle and Eric's candy bags get completely filled rather than calling it a successful night and going home they all start stuffing themselves in the middle of the street so they have more room in their bags for candy, and judging from Butters they weren't the only ones to have the idea.
  • Halloween Episode: The seventh Halloween-themed episode in the series, after "Pinkeye", "Spookyfish", "Korn's Groovy Pirate Ghost Mystery", "Hell on Earth 2006", "A Nightmare on Facetime", and "Sons a Witches".
  • Heroic BSoD: Kenny spends much of the episode depressed. When he finally bottoms out, he goes to Mr. Mackey for counseling, which is how they team up to take down the smartphones.
  • Hidden Depths: Mr. Mackey notes that Kenny is pretty smart and compassionate. The narration twist also demonstrates how eloquent he can be when his voice isn't muffled.
  • Jerkass Ball: Stan and Kyle decide getting more candy with e-scooters is more important than keeping Kenny included in the group and shun him.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: All the kids who forbade Kenny go trick-or-treating with them for not having a smartphone to access the e-scooters lose their smartphone signal, and therefore their access to e-scooters, after Kenny destroys the cell tower. A special mention goes to Stan, Kyle, and Cartman, who were the first to ban Kenny from trick-or-treating with them, only to get stuck trick-or-treating with him in the end.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: Mr. Mackey does this when he mentions how Kenny became obscured until this episode.
  • Mythology Gag: Timmy's costume is his Mecha Timmy outfit from South Park: Phone Destroyer.
  • Narrator All Along: Kenny was narrating the entire episode.
  • Out of Focus: Mr. Mackey lampshades how people tend to forget about Kenny sometimes.
  • Properly Paranoid: Randy correctly guesses that Stephen and Linda only came to his farm in the hopes of having a distant place to hide from trick-or-treaters.
  • Shout-Out:
    • The security guard that Kenny and Mr. Mackey talk to is dressed like Jason Voorhees.
Mackey: Jason, I'm a counselor. You need to trust me.
    • Many characters, including Stan, Kyle, and Cartman, are dressed as characters from Fortnite.
    • The scene where Mr. Mackey steals all the e-scooters is one to the How the Grinch Stole Christmas!
  • Speaking Like Totally Teen: Kenny does this when he's trying to convince the girls to let him go trick-or-treating with them.
  • They Killed Kenny Again: Subverted, despite seemingly being crushed underneath a cell phone tower, Kenny is able to then trick-or-treat unscathed.
  • The Unreveal: It's never shown where the scooters came from.
  • Whole-Plot Reference: The title and plot of this episode is one for The Birds.
  • With Friends Like These...: Pretty much everyone that Kenny considers a friend shuns him for not having a smartphone needed for the e-scooters scheme. Stan and Kyle are at least apologetic about it, but Cartman (as usual) is obnoxious about it and no one else sugarcoats things, either.
