Sonic attacks Doctor Eggman's base in the darkness of night, only for a shocking accident involving all seven Chaos Emeralds in the doctor's possession to suddenly warp him to a new, unknown location. Sonic must now make his way to safety in this new place while evading the police's attempts to catch him.
This episode contains examples of:
- Aloof Ally: Knuckles. He saves Tails and Amy from crashing to a rock in the Tornado. He turns away from them and looks at the fortress.
- Do Not Do This Cool Thing: In the Japanese version, Sonic warns viewers to not stand on moving cars. The 4Kids version instead spoofs this by warning viewers not to chase hedgehogs with Formula-1 race cars.
- Early-Bird Cameo: The first character introduced in the episode is Big the Cat, who would later have a bigger role in the second season finding his pet frog Froggy.
- I Shall Taunt You: Sonic has some fun playing around with the Speed Team, but cuts this once things get more serious.
- Mecha-Mooks: E-12 Behemoth and E-13 Guardbot units are tough to the teeth and immense in size.
- Offscreen Teleportation: No one is seen teleporting from Chaos Control, only absorbed into the glowing energy of it.
- Spanner in the Works: The energy amplifier completely malfunctioned due to the E-13 Guardbot shooting at it, trying to fire at Sonic.
- Wham Shot: Seeing the trucks Sonic avoids shows that he teleported to our world, Earth.
