Cedric attends a meeting of sorcerers where he must decide between taking over Enchancia and his friendship with Sofia.
Tropes:
- Because You Were Nice to Me: Once Cedric seizes the throne, he cannot bring himself to freeze Sofia with the Medusa Stone, because of her kindness and the fact she helped him all these years.
- Bittersweet Ending: Roland gives Cedric a second chance, but the other evil sorcerers have conquered the thrones of other kingdoms.
Word of God says that Sofia and Cedric stopped those sorcerers after this episode. - Captivity Harmonica: Cedric plays a sad tune on a harmonica as he sits in prison.
- Death Glare: Sofia gives one to Cedric during their standoff in the throne room.
- Disc-One Final Boss: Cedric served as such for the first half of the episode before being taken over by the more-powerful Grimtrix.
- Evil All Along: Greylock the Grand, last seen in "Baileywhoops", was not inidcated to be evil or have any negative traits beyond being haughty and condescending towards Cedric. Here, he becomes part of the Order of the Wands, freezes King Magnus, and takes over Rudistan.
- Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: When Grimtrix sees that Cedric has not taken over Enchancia, he assumes that Cedric failed out of incompetence, instead of Sofia appealing to Cedric's Hidden Heart of Gold.
- The Exile: When the Royal Family find out Cedric's truth, he is exiled from Enchancia.
- Internal Reveal: Sofia finally realizes after three whole seasons of Cedric trying to take over Enchancia and all his plots to take her amulet, and the rest of the family find out moments later.
- No Ontological Inertia: Destroying a Medusa Stone causes everyone and everything the caster froze with such to unfreeze, as well as break all the normal spells cast with the wand it was attached to.
- Oh, Crap!:
- Sofia is clearly horrified when Wormwood reveals Cedric's true nature and that he tried to steal her amulet behind her back all these years.
- Amber briefly has this moment when Sofia finally tells Roland that her sister was mean to her in "Once Upon a Princess".
- Spanner in the Works: Cedric bringing Sofia to Hexley Hall to see the sorcerers' convention is the undoing of Grimtrix' plan on a number of levels. When Sofia is seperated from Cedric and goes looking for him, she overhears Grimtrix' plan, and resolves to stop it. Jun also contributes by telling Sofia that her kingdom's sorcerer went to the library, where the find Merlin and all the other good sorcerers trapped.
- Taken for Granite: The Medusa Stones can freeze anyone, albeit not turn them into statues.
- Wham Episode: After three whole seasons of being none the wiser, Sofia and the family finally learn the truth about Cedric, and he gives up his evil ways for good.
