Burn Up! It's Hot-Blooded Cure Sunny!! (known as Kelsey Gets a Makeover in the Glitter Force version) is the second episode of Smile Pretty Cure!, and the 391th episode overall in the Pretty Cure franchise.
Miyuki goes looking for the remaining Cures, and gets Akane to transform for the first time.

- Affectionate Nickname: Matching with the previous episode, the Glitter Force dub has Kelsey call Emily "Em".
- Amusing Injuries: Miyuki getting smalled in the face with a volleyball and falling down a hill.
- Balloon Belly: The result of Candy eating a comically large strawberry.
- Call-Back: The Japanese version's soundtrack uses two different backing tracks from HeartCatch Pretty Cure!.
- Cultural Translation: Miyuki and Candy bow to each other, which is a traditional Japanese greeting. In the Glitter Force dub, this is instead referred to as a traditional greeting in Jubiland (Märchenland).
- Growling Gut: Candy gets one when she's hungry.
- I Am Not Weasel: Candy gets mad at Akane for calling her a lamb.
- Lighter and Softer: Episode 2 of the previous season had the two Cures bickering nonstop. Episode 2 here has the two Cures working as a team the whole time.
- Mistaken for Brooding: When Miyuki finds Akane training alone under the bridge, she thinks that she is sad about losing her last game and crying. However, Akane says she was feeling fine, and that her "tears" were actually sweat.
- One-Steve Limit: Averted; we get another Yuka.
- Playing with Fire: This is the first appearance of Cure Sunny, who has fire powers.
