Big Bird stars in a fairytale titled "Birdie and the Beast".

The letter of the day is K, and the number of the day is 3.

Tropes:

  • An Aesop: The main theme of the episode is kindness.
  • Art Shift: "Abby's Amazing Adventures" is done in 2D animation instead of live-action puppetry.
  • Coconut Meets Cranium: Whenever the Beast loses his temper, he backs into the coconut tree that takes the place of the rose from the source material and causes one of the coconuts from it to fall and hit him on the head.
  • Fictional Board Game: Big Bird plays a board game called Spin the Piggy with the Beast. In this game, each player plays as a pig and takes turns spinning a spinner. When the spinner lands on a number, the player has to move the allotted number of spaces on the board. The first player to make it to the pigsty wins. The Beast wins this game because he doesn't give Big Bird a turn to move his pig.
  • Not His Sled: After Big Bird befriends the Beast, the Witch's curse upon the Beast is broken. However, rather than turn the Beast back into a human, the Beast's hair is straightened out. When a surprised Big Bird tells the Beast that he's still a beast, The Beast tells him that he's always been a beast, and that the Witch's curse just messed up his hair.
  • Shout-Out: "Birdie and the Beast" is based on Beauty and the Beast.
