Two former evildoers forming an unlikely bond.
While continuing her investigation, Ramona learns more about Gordon Goose, formerly known as Gideon Graves, than she thought from Julie Powers. While they find a strange and familiar intruder in Julie's home, which may give a hint of Scott's abduction, Stephen and Knives try to convince Matthew to revive "Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life" under a new format.
  • Art Shift: The anime Lucas falls asleep too at the beginning of the episode is designed more like a traditional Japanese production, setting it apart from the more Animesque-style of the original books the series otherwise adapts.
  • Cliffhanger: After remembering a robot that is constantly spotted throughout Toronto, Ramona also remembers that it belonged to the Katayanagi Twins, Evil Exes 5 and 6. Now believing they kidnapped Scott, she and her friends head out to confront them, only to find Scott alive and at her doorstep. He confirms with her that they were involved in his abduction somehow, but the mastermind behind it all was... Scott himself.
  • Driving Question: Knives, Stephen, and Kim check on the script Young Neil wrote, or rather his "sleep paralysis demon" wrote. They tell Ramona that it was written 14 years from now based on the data found in the file, but the the real puzzle is who the intruder was, why it was written, and how this came to be.
  • It Runs on Nonsensoleum: After 5 of her 7 Evil Exes are no longer suspect, she believes that the Katayanagi Twins' robot may have played a part in their plot to abduct Scott with the Vegan portal. But why and how can a robot, of all things, harness the powers of a Vegan? Because robots don't need to eat food, let alone meat or dairy. This being the Scott Pilgrim universe, however, Scott confirms that this is absolutely correct upon his return.
  • Internal Reveal: Young Neil reveals how the script for his movie, now in the works of being a musical, was made from a "sleep paralysis demon". The others look at the script and try to find Ramona, believing this will help her track down Scott and the kidnappers.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: Lucas says he's receiving job offers to voice characters in animation, but turns them down because "he's strictly live-action". He's saying this in a animation (and voiced by a primarily live-action actor to boot).
  • Metaphorically True: Ramona asks Julie if Gideon, or Gordon, was faking his loser phase to hide that he kidnapped Scott. As Ramona leaves with new info after discovering the wandering robot, Gordon confides in Julie that he was faking it... only it's more of a plot to take revenge on Matthew.
  • Mythology Gag: Lucas revealing his real name is Luke may be a reference to the fact that in the comics, Scott kept getting him mixed up with Luke Wilson.
  • Not Me This Time: Julie can't stand Scott, but denies she and Gordon have anything to do with his kidnapping. She confesses that being an evil couple for such an act would make their current "relationship" more interesting.
  • Summation Gathering: Of a sort. When Ramona finds Scott’s friends gathered at her apartment, she launches into an impromptu summation of her findings on the case thus far.
  • Two-Timer Date: Both the graphic novel and movie tease that Ramona dated the Katayanagi Twins, Exes 5 and 6, at the same time, but she never confirmed it. Here, she reveals that she most certainly did back in college, which naturally pissed them off. Scott's friends are shocked by this news.
  • Wham Line: Scott appears out of nowhere and confirms Ramona's suspicious that the Katayanagi Twins did get involved with abducting him thanks to the robot and Vegan portal, but someone else was the mastermind behind it.
    Ramona: Someone else? Who?
Scott: ...It was me. I did it.
