"'Dear Usagi, how are you? You're so lucky, you get to see Mamo-chan whenever you want. I miss him so much I've decided to come back and pay everyone a visit. See you soon. Sincerely, Chibi-usa.' What in the world? I don't believe this! In the Name of the Moon, I'll punish that brat!”
Usagi Tsukino

(CWi Episode: "Hello, Sailor Mini Moon")

Following the death of her predecessor, Eudial, the leader of the Witches 5, is appointed to carry out the mission of finding Talismans. And she starts by going after a popular taiko drummer girl during a Summer Festival. And she's not the only one making her debut as an old ally returns to start her training as a Sailor Guardian.

Tropes in this episode include:

  • Age-Appropriate Angst: Minako did not take kindly to some brats calling her an "old lady" so she sabotages their fishing nets as retribution.
  • Barely-Changed Dub Name: Eudial becomes “Eugeal” in the Cloverway dub.
  • Batter Up!: Soiya's second attack involves summoning spiked drummer sticks with the intention of beating Moon and Mars who have taiko drums stuck on them.
  • Behind a Stick: While spying on Rei, all the girls manage to maneuver themselves via crouching to hide behind the waitress Unazuki. Though Rei catches them, they get points for being able to evade her sight for so long.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Just before the Festive Daimon can show off her epic drumming skills on the Guardians, Sailor Chibi Moon makes the scene and gives them enough time to fight back.
  • Contrasting Replacement Character: Eudial to Kaolinite. While Kaolinite hunted random civilians that she believed could possess the Talismans, Eudial created an advanced computer program that hunts targets based on their personal achievements. And while Kaolinite had her Daimons reap her victims' Pure Hearts along with fighting by their side against the Sailor Guardians, Eudial uses a Capture Gun to expose the Pure Heart and summons the Daimon to handle the heroes while she inspects the heart crystal.
  • Dramatic Irony: In the end of the episode, Haruka points out how Usagi looks alot like her little friend. Both her and Chibi-usa are quick to deny the allegations.
  • Dub Name Change: Sailor Chibi Moon is named "Sailor Mini Moon" in the Cloverway version. "Mini" rhymes with "Rini", so she still manages to be named after herself in some fashion like in the Japanese version.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: All members of the Witches 5 appear albeit with their faces covered in shadows.
  • Evil Genius: All the Witches qualify as they're all introduced performing science experiments in their personal laboratory.
  • Fantastic Firearms: Eudial uses a modified weapon called a Capture Gun that shoots a compressed ball of dark energy at any person which in turn can take out their Pure Heart.
  • Fatal Fireworks: Soiya's first line of attack involves sending a shower of fireworks to attack Sailors Moon and Mars.
  • Festival Episode: The Juuban Summer Festival comes into play as the girls dress up, run a goldfish booth and see the fireworks.
  • Foreshadowing: Luna-P briefly appears behind Usagi while she tries to fish for goldfish.
  • It's the Best Whatever, Ever!: Rei hoped to recruit the taiko drummer woman hoping to make the Summer Festival the best one ever.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Neptune agrees with Uranus's decision to not help the distressed Inners on the grounds that they can't be expected to save them all the time as they'd get used to it.
  • Maker of Monsters: The professor uses an extravagant oven that can fuse Daimon eggs with any object of his choosing. The oven then produces a new Daimon inside a metal box for Eudial to use during combat.
  • Mistaken for Romance: Upon seeing Rei in a diner alongside another girl, Maya Tohno the drummer woman, Minako believes that the hothead is dating her. Makoto suggests that the reverse is at play and her date is a dude disguised as a dudette.
  • Mundane Solution: Once she arrives at the festival grounds, Eudial simply calls out to Maya Tohno to appear before her via speaker. It works.
  • Plot-Relevant Age-Up: Compared to her appearance in R, Chibi-usa has grown a little more making her ready for Guardian training.
  • Safety Gear Is Cowardly: Played With. Before driving to her target, Eudial takes the time to buckle her seatbelt. It then shows her driving like a madwoman out of an underground subway entrance.
  • Swapped Roles: In the past, Kaolinite allowed her Daimons to reap the Pure Hearts while she waited to analyze it. Eudial, on the other-hand, is directly involved in taking the Pure Heart of a victim while her Daimon serves as her bodyguard.
  • Think Nothing of It: To Rei's admiration, the drummer not only has been training for three hours non-stop but is giving her best effort for free.
  • This Is Gonna Suck: Usagi is not happy to learn her future self's basically dumping Chibi-Usa on her.
Serena (Cloverway dub): YOU MEAN WE'RE STUCK WITH YOU AGAIN?!
  • Villain Opening Scene: The episode begins with Professor Tomoe conversing with Eudial about her report regarding the next target followed by him creating a Daimon using a specialized oven machine.
  • What Kind of Lame Power Is Heart, Anyway?: Chibi Moon's signature move Pink Sugar Heart Attack isn't the most reliable of attacks as it doesn't work the instant she summons it. At least it manifests and manages to neutralize Soiya into submission.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Chibi Moon lightly chastises her mom and Rei for needing to rely on her to be saved.
