Shroomy just wants to be loved. So Mario takes him to go see Lady Dimitrescu.
With Shroomy's uncle Doomguy making his birthday far more stressful than it should be, he and Mario go to find him and talk things out. While there, the two are roped into helping his
Aunt Dimitrescu get Uncle Doomguy to stop hyperfixating on his
Replacement Goldfish for Shroomy,
Isabelle, by proving Shroomy can still hunt demons.
- Adaptational Nice Guy: Lady Dimitrescu, while still a terrifying vampire who kills people for food, is nothing but supportive of her nephew Shroomy.

- A Day in the Limelight: The episode focuses on Shroomy with Mario being dragged along for moral support and comic relief.
- Bittersweet Ending: Shroomy fails to reconnect with Doomguy or get him to stop obsessing over Isabelle. Shroomy then decides that if he doesn't accept him for his new passion, then he wants nothing to do with him, deciding to be with people who actually care. Aunt Dimitrescu understands, and gives him a hug.
- Call-Back: Don Resetti has NOT forgotten about the hell Mario put him through in If Mario Was in Animal Crossing, and his first response to seeing Mario again is to pull out a jetpack and haul ass.
- Daywalking Vampire: Lady Dimitrescu is totally fine standing around in broad daylight.
- Jerkass: Uncle Doomguy can come off this way, due to the fact he became incredibly callous and disapproving of Shroomy for having a new passion besides demon hunting (and keep in mind, because that came about due to the bite of '87, Doomguy is basically faulting Shroomy for having brain damage), and completely shunning his wife and daughters to spend time with Isabelle.
- Rage Breaking Point: When Mario gets badly injured, Shroomy snaps and stops trying to reconnect with his uncle.
- Replacement Goldfish: Isabelle has become this for Shroomy following the Bite of '87. Dimitrescu and her daughters disapprove of this, because of how obsessed with her Doomguy has become.
- "Well Done, Son" Guy: Shroomy spends the episode trying to get his Uncle Doomguy's approval, both for himself and for his aunt and cousins. By the end of the video, he gives up trying to make Doomguy happy, knowing he'll have the support of Mario and Aunt Dimitrescu.
