Recap / SMG4 - Mario Preschool

Go To

In an attempt to combat YouTube’s crackdown on bad words, SMG4 turns the show into an educational kids’ channel. This goes as well as you’d expect.

This episode of SMG4 provides examples of:

  • Artistic License – Law: A few characters are arrested for breaking fictional laws.
    • Luigi is arrested offscreen for demonic rituals. Ironically, he was one of the only people who didn't cause mass destruction, the demon he summoned was friendly and even helped teach the kids.
    • Meggy and Boopkins are arrested by the shipping police for Boopkins's shipping drawing.
  • Artistic License – Law Enforcement: Bowser is arrested not by the police officer ordering him to come out of the van with his hands up, but by the officer sending a whole squad of police cars to crash into and destroy the van.
  • Awkward Stoplight Moment: Bowser is teaching the kids on "Stranger Danger" by driving up in a stereotypical "Free Candy" van in an attempt to teach the kids not to go anywhere near strangers. The kids ignore his lesson due to their love of candy and hijack the van and drag Bowser across the city. After Bowser stops them and drives them back in the van, he stops at a stoplight right next to a police car. When the police sees Bowser in the van with kids inside, Bowser tells the police he's just taking them to school, but he's immediately swarmed by a fleet of police cars.
  • Did We Just Have Tea with Cthulhu?: While teaching children about shapes, Luigi summons Satan by accident by drawing a pentagram. Despite his horrifying appearance, the devil is more than eager to help Luigi out, and ever brings a "shape-in-a-hole" game for the kids to play with.
  • Downer Ending: Albeit Played for Laughs. The video ends with the cast (except for Bob and Steve) getting arrested for various crimes throughout the video (Mario for stealing animals, Luigi from summoning a demon, Yoshi for evading taxes, Bowser for being mistaken for a child kidnapper, Boopkins for making fan art shipping himself with Miku, Meggy for having the mess pinned on her by Boopkins for his earlier crime, and SMG4 for being a dangerous meme). They are then subjected to Bob's story, much to their horror.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: A Shipping Police officer shows up to try and arrest Boopkins, and in a move not out of place from Bob, he frames Meggy for the picture he drew of him and Hatsune Miku leaving her to be arrested by the Shipping Police... and runs smack into a dozen other officers who end up arresting him too, though he thinks it's because they didn't like his painting.
