Recap / Runescape Recipe For Disaster

Go To

The 100th quest, and a long and varied adventure. A mishap with a meeting of the Secret Council of Runescape (mostly just an excuse for its members to sit around, enjoy some nice food, and gossip) has summoned the Culinaromancer, an evil food magician, into the room. Gypsy Aris has bought you some time by freezing time in the dining hall, but before the Culinaromancer can be defeated, the council members must be protect from him with food magic, via feeding them their favorite foods. The members are as follows:

Duke Horacio (not involved in the quest, as he left for a random event beforehand)
Osman (not involved, as he was kidnapped by Evil Bob beforehand)
Wartface and Bentnoze, the generals of Goblin Village (Slop of Compromise)
The Mountain Dwarf (Rock Cake)
Evil Dave (Spicy Stew)
The Lumbridge Sage (Cake of Guidance)
Pirate Pete (Fishcakes)
Skrach Uglogwee (Jubbly Bird)
Sir Amik Varze (Creme Brûlée Supreme)
King Awowogei (Stuffed Snake)

After that, you can move on to the Culinaromancer's pocket dimension, where the final subquest, Defeating the Culinaromancer, happens.

Tropes applying across several subquests

  • Time Stands Still: Gypsy Aris's Tempus Cessit spell. It requires her to stay in the area, which is why you have to go actually make the food.
  • Timey-Wimey Ball: Immediately after you leave the area affected by Tempus Cessit, the world you enter is one where you've already saved everyone. It's a plot point that you can ask people for what you did in order to complete the quest, and then using that information you got from the future to save the council members in the past.
  • Whatevermancy: Culinaromancy, or food magic, plays a large role in the quest.
