- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: As soon as she gets a Corvus phone, Gert becomes infatuated with Max and reacts in anger at her phone being taken away while Chase is paranoid and possessive.
- Sarcastic Confession: When asked how she got the board of Wizard on her side so fast, Morgan says "I just worked my magic."
- She Is Not My Girlfriend: Gert and Chase simultaneously insist that Max is not Gert's boyfriend.

- Wrong Genre Savvy: Tina is rocked to discover she's no longer CEO of Wizard. While she's ready to blame it on Morgan's magic, Robert quickly points out that when the boss goes on a spate of bizarre behavior that leads to several employee deaths and then vanishes for six months, it's only natural the board of directors will give a vote of no confidence.
