Hidden City’s Most Wanted

  • Angry Guard Dog: The police officer’s house has a large dog creature that prevents Mikey from getting in to save Draxum.
  • Armor-Piercing Response: As Splinter and Draxum's fighting reaches its boiling point, Draxum points out that without him, Splinter would not exist as he is now with his sons. After Splinter has a flashback of him with the baby turtles, he admits that Draxum is correct.
  • Both Sides Have a Point: Splinter has every right to despise Draxum for turning him into a rat and trying to destroy humanity. However, like Mikey says, Draxum is also responsible for Splinter having his four sons. Not to mention Draxum has gone straight ever since Mikey started helping him.
  • Double Take: When Splinter tries to get Leo’s help in rescuing Draxum, it takes him a moment to realize Leo has blond hair. He takes a moment to examine it and decides to worry about his son’s sudden hair growth later.
  • The Drag-Along: Mikey initially brings the disguised Draxum on the trip against his will. He then willingly stays to annoy Splinter.
  • Grey Rain of Depression: A flashback has Lou — slowly mutating into a rat — stuck in a cardboard box, unsure of what to do. Then, he sees baby Mikey grabbing his thumb and in that moment, he found hope and a new path.
  • Incredibly Lame Fun: Draxum points out how Splinter’s idea of “fun” with Mikey is taking him to old barber shops and wishing fountains.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: While Draxum stayed to pester Splinter and has insulted him a few times, he is right that Splinter hasn’t done anything actually fun with Mikey.
  • Kick the Dog: When Splinter is admiring an old mural of him, Draxum insults his old career as an action movie star. Considering how Draxum is responsible for Splinter being a rat mutant, insulting the man’s former career is the last thing he should be doing.
  • Ocular Gushers: Splinter gets sprayed in the face by Mikey’s tears when he tries get out of rescuing Draxum.
  • Troll: When Splinter makes it clear he doesn’t want Draxum around, Draxum decides to stay just to annoy the rat.

Bad Hair Day

  • Call-Back:
    • As Leo is checking the security footage to find out why he keeps moving around, he sees Splinter knocking him into the pool and stealing his odachi.
    • When Leo is calling on imaginary Raph, he says that he was just talking to other Raph.
  • Failed a Spot Check: The guard who lets Mikey and Splinter into the cell with the others fails to notice the odachi sticking out of the giant cake she wheels in for them.
  • Karma Houdini: The yokai responsible for the robberies gets away with controlling Leo via the hair monster and keeps the stolen items.
  • Miserable Massage: Leo’s massage at a less impressive spa is quite painful as the masseur pounds into his shell while wearing brass knuckles.
  • Non-Mammalian Hair: In order to have access to the Hirsuit Resort, the normally bald terrapin Leo gets a head full of beautiful golden locks.
  • Puppeteer Parasite: The hair that Leo acquired turns out to be committing the robberies and is carrying them out while Leo is asleep.
  • Skewed Priorities: Leo isn’t interested in solving the mystery of the thefts taking place to help his fellow patrons. He’s more concerned about getting pampered.
  • Sleepwalking: Subverted. Leo thinks he’s committing various thefts while sleepwalking. The reality is that the hair is dragging his body around the resort.
  • Ungrateful Bastard: Because of the resort’s obsession with the patrons having hair, the security guards accuse Leo (who is now bald again) of committing the thefts and have him arrested even though he caught the actual thief.
