Big Mama turns New York City into her new Battle Nexus arena, and the TMNT have to fight to save everyone they love.
Tropes:
- Big "NO!": A double whammy! First: Big Mama loses her mystic ring that controls Shadow Fiend, only for the ring to be quickly picked up by the Foot Recruit. Second: Splinter’s worst nightmare: the Shredder has returned!
- Call-Back: On the cruise ship, Draxum takes a sip of Todd's lemonade...and then remembers Todd giving it to him back in "The Evil League of Mutants".
- The orb Big Mama used to trap the citizens of New York was the same one Draxum handed her as payment in "Insane in the Mama Train".
- Enemy Mine: An enforced method. Big Mama forces the turtles to fight alongside various villains (Raph with Ghostbear, Mikey with Meat Sweats, Donnie with Hypnopotamus and Leo with one of the Sander Brothers). However, the villains are not willing to team up them as they are more willing to save their own skins, barring Hypno, who just has no idea how to play chess.
- Later played straight in the big fight, with Foot Recruit joining the Turtles and co.
- Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: Big Mama calling for her Shadow Fiend to grab the orb caused it to crack it a little, thus letting Draxum open it just enough for him, April, Splinter, and Foot Recruit to escape.
- Oh, Crap!: The first one is when the turtles thought Ralph had died (they figured out he's playing dead), but the second one is when the turtles, Splinter, April and Draxum suddenly realized that the Shredder is back!.
- Playing Possum: Raph pretends to have died during his and Ghost Bear's battle against the Troll.
- The Reveal: Big Mama's champion, Shadow Fiend, turns out to be none other than the Shredder!
- Smart People Play Chess: Donnie's opponent has him fight a game as chess, but with him as the pieces and Hypno (who doesn't know how to play) having to fight.
- Victory by Endurance / Wins by Doing Absolutely Nothing: Donnie wins his trial against Cortex because Hypno can't even start to play, which leads to Cortex impatiently hitting the table and knocking his own king over.
- Wham Episode: Where to begin...the Shredder has returned, the Foot Recruit was able to reclaim the Shredder for the Foot Clan, Big Mama is ousted as the main villain, and the 'Grand Nexus' hotel is destroyed.
