Go To

The Galactic Federation prepares its second invasion of Earth while Rick, Lincoln, Wilbur Huggins, Lori, and Lynn are occupied in Gromflom Prime, and Tammy Guterman seeks revenge on Rick, alongside a sinister squad of old faces. But the Earth isn't about to lend itself to her grip without a fight, as the Full House Gang, and the people empowered by the Infinity Balls oppose them!

Rick & Morty episode: Star Mort: Rickturn Of the Jerri

Loud House episode: N/A

  • Adaptational Badass: Carol regains her Infinity Ball powers, allowing her to fight the Federation alongside Lori and Rick. Darcy and a few Infinity Ball recepients do as well.
  • Adaptational Context Change: Tammy escapes via a portal while Rick arrogantly monologues, but the Federation's annihilation forces her to stay in the Citadel, completely at Evil Lincoln's mercy.
    • Principal Huggins doesn't try and seek revenge on Rick for banishing him, despite playing the role of Space Beth, and is completely okay with him, as seen in the previous episode.
  • Adaptation Expansion: The Full House Gang, the Casagrandes, Squanchy, the brainwashed Vindicators, Carol, Mr. Poopybutthole, Mr. Grouse and the Meeseeks Army are all involved in the episode's premise, each with their own fight scenes.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: The contingency booby traps Rick installed in Dr. Lopez's clinic only activates when there are Federation intruders, whereas in canon, the traps in Dr. Wong's room activates only when Rick pretends to agree to therapy by saying it verbatim, just to spite her.
  • Adapted Out: The Invisibility Belt is not present, being more or less replaced by the Full House Gang as their costumes are superpowered. There's also no sibling vitriol among the Louds involving such an item, unlike Morty and Summer.
    • There's no scanning security in the mothership, because Tammy escapes with her life. So we get straight to the Phoenixperson fight.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Rick arrives to assist his grandkids in dealing with their foes. Mr. Needful is shot dead by Rick while he mocks Lola's affliction as she fights him, then he kills the goose while dispatched by Lisa.
  • Bittersweet Ending: The "sweet" part? The Federation is destroyed for the last time, the Vindicators and Squanchy all freed from brainwashing, and Birdperson is retrieved. The "bitter" end? the Louds are completely exhausted fighting them off, and Lisa's relationship with Rick goes from worshipping him to completely strained, very similar to Summer, and like in the canon episode, it goes to show how much of a terrible grandpa he is, leaving him with only Birdperson for company. Tammy gets away, and now at the total mercy of Evil Lincoln, who still poses a looming threat over the heroes.
  • Blatant Lies: Rick lies to Phoenixperson about Tammy's death. Justified, as she survived in this universe instead of dying, her body can't be used to distract Phoenixperson.
  • Brutal Honesty: Lisa points out that Rick's laziness causes him to not put real effort in trying to hunt down Tammy, let alone trying to find Lynn.
  • Boom, Headshot!: Mr. Needful dies this way by Rick.
  • The Bus Came Back: Squanchy, the two remaining Vindicators, and Phoenixperson (like in canon) all return after being absent for quite some time.
  • Composite Character: ex-Principal Huggins plays the role of Space Beth once again, Carol and High Card Lori each sub for Summer. However, Night Club Luna takes Jerry, Summer, Beth and Space Beth's role, all at once as Rick's companion against Phoenixperson.
  • Continuity Nod: The Mr. Meeseeks army returns after a long absence, and they attack the invading Federation.
  • Death by Adaptation: Mr. Needful is killed by Rick while he mocks Queen of Diamonds Lola for her flaws.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Just like in canon with the Beths and provoking Rick, Tammy didn't take into account that Rick's grandkids are already hardened warriors, while also having superpowered alter egos at their disposal. There's also the recipients of the Infinity Balls, Lynn among them. Naturally, they repel her invasion. Also, like with Beth, Rick is enough of a Papa Wolf to retaliate if any harm comes to his grandkids.
  • Dirty Coward: Lola points out that the only reason that Needful only chose to attack her is because he fears Rick and won't dare challenge him head on. Considering how he was beaten senseless by Rick in both canon and this story, it's a given.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: After the goose is killed by Rick, Lisa laments that Rick only did so out of petty revenge for wounding his pride last time they fought, and he wouldn't let the goose get away with it.
  • Fatal Flaw: Rick's massive ego. As Lisa points out, his overwhelming knowledge and skills cause him to be more complacent and lazy with his approach to dealing with people. This is also the reason that Tammy gets away because, unlike in canon, Rick wasted his time arrogantly monologuing rather than just shoot her on the spot.
    • His pride as well. As Lisa points out, Rick could've just let her handle the fighting goose, but killed him anyway, not because he's dangerous, but because his need for petty revenge for his wound pride wouldn't let him spare his foe.
  • Gaslighting: Mr. Needful taunts Lola about her demonic curse being associated with her character. This causes Lola's inner demon to literally awaken.
  • Hated Hometown: House to be precise. Tammy is forced to retreat to the Citadel after her disastrous invasion. She's forced to live in a room supposedly resembling her old one in the past, provided by Evil Lincoln, and she trembles in utter despair.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Leni manages to get Risotto to turn around by a pep talk. Rick and Lincoln do the same to Krombopoulos Amy regarding Michael's death, much to Lana's chagrin. This prevents them from going the way of Needful and the goose.
  • Karma Houdini: Tammy gets away from her canon death as a result of heeding Evil Lincoln's warning, and Rick's incessant monologuing.
  • Killed Off for Real: Mr. Needful, courtesy of Rick. The goose as well.
  • Lazy Bum: Rick in a nutshell, as Lisa points out, is pretty much why it took a number of chapters just to find Lynn, and why Tammy got away. Knowing his character in canon, she's not wrong.
  • Phlebotinum Rebel: After Needful is killed, Lola turns down Rick's offer to completely cure her demonic powers, deciding to learn to control it for her and her family's protection.
  • Pre-Mortem One-Liner / Bond One-Liner: Played for Laughs unlike in canon, as Tammy escapes. Rick jovially contemplates about using his canon self's "go to a wedding" line instead of wasting his time monologuing.
  • Protected by a Child: Ronnie Anne protects Arturo and her friends from a brainwashed Squanchy. However, this gets all of the latter to question where her abilities came from. The Infinity Ball-transformed Darcy protects her mom from the goose.
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: Needful taunts Lola into snapping, going demon form against him as she slashes away with her claws.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Enforced for narrative reasons. Having forseen her fate by Rick's laser gun across the multiverse by Evil Lincoln's warning, Tammy escapes via a portal while Rick monologues about her folly. Risotto is also redeemed by Leni, preventing his canon death.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech:
    • Demon Lola delivers a scathing one against Lucius Needful, reasoning that he only picks on kids like her because he's too scared to face Rick, which is proven true when the smartest man shoots the bastard dead.
    • After the Federation is destroyed one last time, Lisa delivers a brutally honest one on Rick for not doing much to track down Tammy, citing his halfassed efforts in finding Lynn when she runs away. She coldly tells him that he'll never change, and just like in canon with his meddling of Beth, it shows once more how much of a terrible guy he is. Rick doesn't try to fire back and laments his own folly, while alone with the unconscious Birdperson.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Mr. Grouse lambasts Rick for the invasion of the Federation, thinking it's his fault (which is only half-true, Tammy started the invasion whether Rick is involved or not). Later, Lisa calls him out for his halfassed track record of finding certain people.
