Rick & Morty episode: Big Trouble in Little Sanchez

Loud House: Friend or Faux?

  • Adaptational Context Change:
    • Instead of making him listen to Elliot Smith, Lisa confiscates Rick's portal gun in order to coerce him into getting back into his real body.
    • Instead of Lisa doing it herself just to get an A in Social Skills, it was Rick's idea to give her a best friend in the form of Darcy, not because of grades, but because he fears Lisa could become a Rick, now that she's in possession of the microverse. There's also no indication of Lisa desiring such a grade at all.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: In addition to killing the vampire invading her school, Rick entered Lisa's school to help her find a friend.
  • Adapted Out: The Nuptia 4 Couples' Counseling Institute is not in this chapter.
  • Age Lift: The age of Rick's clone body was changed from a teenager to a four-year old.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: Lucy got her wish at being a vampire, but there's far too many setbacks for her to enjoy it.
  • Continuity Nod: In the last chapter, Rick notices that Lisa might need a friend to keep her unscrupulous scientific curiosities at bay. When Leni suggests that Rick turn himself into a kid to help stop the vampire, he almost dismisses until but then, remembering Lisa's lack of friends, accepts it so that he can help find her one.
  • Cover Innocent Eyes and Ears: When Lisa realizes that Rick was about to kill all of his clones, she urges Darcy to look away, saying that there's a bug somewhere.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • While the Mortician's Club may take delight in all thinks dark, gloomy and morbid, they (and Rocky) are genuinely horrified when Lucy rabidly bites into Haiku's arm to feed on her blood.
    • Goth girl Lucy becomes disgusted with Rick's overly shameless slaughtering of his clone bodies while being completely naked and laughing maniacally.
  • Mythology Gag: In The Loud House episode "Butterfly Effect", Lucy somehow has fangs and can turn into a bat after scaring off Lincoln. Of course, unlike that episode, in this one, the vampirized Lucy can't fly in bat form due to obvious inexperience.
  • No Social Skills: Like in canon. So Rick has to give Lisa a friend.
  • Shout-Out: When Lynn denies the existence of vampires, Rick brings up a certain town in Oregon where all kinds of so-called "fantasy" creatures reside.
