Recap / Rick And The Loud House Chapter 16 A Total Rickall While Undie Pressure

Go To

As Lincoln tries to deal with his sisters' annoying habits (and get Lola to confess to clogging the toilet), the family gets visited by "friends of the family"...

Rick & Morty episode: Total Rickall

Loud House episode(s): Undie Pressure, Sleuth or Consequences

  • Adaptation Amalgamation: In addition to the corresponding episodes of Rick and Morty and The Loud House, this chapter also includes the Loud House short "No End in Bite".
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: All the Loud sisters NEVER mistreat Lincoln in this chapter, as opposed to the original "Sleuth or Consequences" as a result of the Character Development they're forced to endure, Rick's involvement, and because of the events of "Fandom Assimilation". An example would be Lori giving Lincoln an incessant wedgie just to prove she's innocent.
  • Adapted Out: The plot of "Sleuth or Consequences" serves only as a premise to end the chapter and as a part of a complete retelling of the original Rick and Morty and The Loud House's "Undie Pressure" episode.
  • Big "NO!": The siblings' response when Rick chews them out for prioritizing the sibling bet over a more serious matter, much to his chagrin.
  • Closet Key: Sleepy Ginny manufactures fake romantic memories between her and Luan, which culminates in them making out. Luan's rather rattled when Ginny turns out to be a parasite, but less because of getting hit with Fake Memories and more because it made her realize she was bi.
  • Continuity Nod: The plotline of Lucy clogging the toilet and Lincoln and Lola blaming each other for it is resolved in this chapter after being Left Hanging in the last chapter.
  • Cuteness Proximity: Lori temporally stops hunting for parasites to melt over the adorable sight of Lincoln brushing Lola's hair after they made up.
  • Get It Over With: When Lori has Rick at gunpoint to prove he's a parasite, a profane Rick encourages her to shoot if she can't stand him. This also turns out to be the key to defeating the parasites in the house, as Lori never has anything good to remember about Rick.
Rick: Oh, oh, really Lori? I make thing difficult for you huh? Then by all means, why don't you just do both of us a favour and pull the trigger? Just do it! I know you want to! You've had it out for me since day one. You've just been waiting for an opportunity like this, haven't you? I've got about a thousand memories of your dumb ass and about six of them are pleasant. The rest is you either bitching at me or bitching about me. So do it! Do it, motherfucker! Pull the fucking trigger!
  • Downer Ending: Lori mistakes Mr. Poopybutthole for a parasite and shoots him. Everyone is shocked and Lori runs off in tears.
  • Irony: A meta example. Mr. Poopybutthole is indeed a parasite in Rick and Morty canon. Here, he gets mistaken for one and is shot by Lori.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: After Lucy confesses, Lola realizes that in blaming Lincoln for the toilet, she was falling back to her old angry habits and runs to her room in tears.
  • Mythology Gag: When Lucy confesses to clogging the toilet, a sympathetic Lincoln tells her he would have taken the blame for her, which was what he did in "Sleuth or Consequences". It was averted thanks to Rick's involvement, and the parasite situation.
  • Skewed Priorities: The siblings would rather play with Lincoln's bet than getting rid of the parasites in the house.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Lincoln could've taken the blame for clogging the toilet like in canon, but since Lucy opened up and the sisters and Rick are okay with it, Lincoln never gets grounded or worse, suffer his sisters' wrath. The fact they have to kill parasites is a more important situation than the toilet, just gives the sisters no reason to further make it worse.
  • Tempting Fate: Rick encourages the stressed-out Lori to shoot him when he's ensnared by the parasites. Subverted as Rick knew the parasites' weakness all along.
