Why Were We Here?
Tex and O'Malley have decided to work together! Now, Church must do everything he can to save his ex-girlfriend! Er, and stop them from taking over the universe. That's important, too.
This episode has examples of:
- Achievements in Ignorance: While inside Caboose's mind, Church is able to use Mental Tucker's sword because Caboose doesn't understand that it only works for Tucker in reality.
- Bittersweet Ending: Bordering on Downer Ending, but on the positive side, the Reds manage to stop Omega from escaping Blood Gulch by planting Andy the Bomb on his escape ship. On the negative side, Tex was on the ship as well, making all of Church's attempts to help her All for Nothing. Ultimately, everything goes back to the way they were.
- Book Ends: The Blood Gulch Chronicles ends how it began; with two soldiers, one asking "You ever wonder why we're here?" with the second segueing into a monologue, only to be told it was Not Actually the Ultimate Question. They are observed by soldiers on the other team, who complain how all the first two do is stand around and talk. The roles are swapped this time, with Red Team observing Blue Team as they stand around and talk.
- Oh, No... Not Again!: At one point, Omega ends up inside of Caboose's head again. His reaction: "What am I doing in this idiot?"
