Temple of the Key

The battle of Crash Site Alpha has become a fight for survival, and the race for the Great Key begins.

Tropes

  • All-Powerful Bystander: Santa, despite being an Alien AI with access to all the alien tech on Chorus and Caboose claiming they "became friends", refuses to meddle with human affairs and leaves the away team at the mercy of the pirates.
  • The Bus Came Back: Doc, having been absent since the future-cube warped him away in Season 11, finally shows up again.
  • The Dog Bites Back: Doc, one of the biggest, if not THE biggest Butt-Monkey among the Blood Gulch Crew, hits his Rage Breaking Point when he realizes that none of the Reds and Blues even noticed he was gone for so long, after he spent what felt like an eternity in another dimension thinking they were trying to save him. He ends up imitating his O'Malley personality and beats up Tucker.
  • Flaw Exploitation: In the first episode, the Counselor noted that Carolina is likely to abandon her team when faced with a competitive scenario. Sharkface uses this by daring her to get the Key before him.
  • Rage Breaking Point: Upon realizing that none of the Reds and Blues even noticed him being gone, after being trapped in another dimension for who-knows-how-long, Doc flips out so badly he starts emulating O'Malley and begins beating on Tucker.
  • Spanner in the Works: Doyle manages to get the Key before Space Pirates do, buying some time.
  • Wham Line:
    • When Caboose, Tucker, and Doctor Grey hear a mysterious moaning in the caves they are hiding in and start panicking over what it might be, Freckles suddenly says "Friendly heat signature detected." Tucker notes the "Friendly" part with confusion right before Doc shows up.
    • Not long after, Doc's laughter followed by the line "You incompetent fools!" delivered in an iconic raspy voice signals that O'Malley is properly back for the first time since Blood Gulch.

Doc

Poor Doc. During the first season of The Chorus Trilogy, he accidentally ends up transported to another dimension for an undisclosed span of time. When he finally reunites with his comrades, he does not take it well to learn that no one even noticed that he was gone for that time.

How well does it match the trope?
