Air date: March 22, 2016 note

Comet Fever

Mindy discovers what may be a new comet, prompting the kids to go to space to see for themselves. Meanwhile, Mindy and Carrot make their own comet at home.
  • Astronomic Zoom: The beginning of the episode begins with a wide shot of the Earth, zooming into the Northern Hemisphere, North America, and Boxwood Terrace in Washington.
  • Camera Abuse: At the end of the episode, a snowball is thrown at the screen.
  • Glasses Pull: Used for dramatic effect with the scientists remove their glasses to see if Mindy really did discover a new comet. Bergs later affirms that she did.
  • Hold Up Your Score: Sunspot somersaults into the wagon. Jet and Sydney give him a 10, but Sean gives him a 9.
  • I Have No Idea What I'm Doing: Carrot is clueless when he and Mindy attempt to make their own comet, so he decides to just wing it.
  • Indy Ploy: Carrot decides to improvise on the fly rather than follow directions to make a homemade comet. Following an embarrassing failed attempt (apparently he didn't know what mud was until now), he and Mindy decide to ask Face 9000 for help.
  • Must Have Caffeine: This exchange says it all.
Sean: That looks like enough coffee for an army.
Dr. Bergs: An army of one, my friend, an army of one.
  • Never Say "Die": Averted. Jet explicitly asks if comets ever die out.
  • Offscreen Crash: Carrot puts his hand on the side of a bowl he's using to make a comet, and it lands on his head. We don't get to see it on screen, but we do get a reaction shot of Mindy and Face 9000 cringing at the sight.
  • One-Liner, Name... One-Liner: Dr. Bergs to Sean: "An army of one, my friend, an army of one".
  • Parrot Exposition: In an attempt to provide them instructions, Face 9000 keeps repeating what Mindy and Carrot say immediately after they say it. They speculate that he's a telepath.
  • Running Gag: Face 9000 repeating things. Also, Mindy saying things like "I X? I mean, I X!"
  • Shown Their Work: Celery mentions the real life comet Shoemaker–Levy 9.
  • Snowball Fight: At the end of the episode, Mindy and Carrot use the leftover ice from their cooler to have a snowball fight with the others.
  • Stargazing Scene: The episode opens with the cast having a stargazing party. They each take turns looking into the telescope.
  • Telepathy: Discussed. Mindy and Carrot think that Face can read their minds.
  • Visual Pun: Sunspot flies outside the saucer like a comet, with a ribbon on his tail. A comet tail.
  • You Know What They Say: "If at first you don't succeed, ask Face 9000".

Asteroid Patrol

Sean sets up his own asteroid watch station in the treehouse.
  • Does Not Like Spam: Jet brings up his hatred of ice cream again. Mindy tried to show Jet how yummy ice cream is, but the ice cream cone Mindy thought was chocolate was actually meatloaf, which made Jet hate ice cream even more.
  • Irony: At one point, Jet engineers Sean's telescope to make food he doesn't even like (ice cream).
  • Never Trust a Title: You would think that this episode, titled "Asteroid Patrol", would be about the kids trying to look for asteroids from the treehouse. In the episode, Sean does set up an asteroid watch station in the treehouse and gets the rest of the group involved, but most of the episode revolves around Jet trying to fix Sean's telescope.
  • Precocious Crush: This is the last known instance of Jet's crush on Dr. Rafferty. Sean's telescope needs adjusting and Jet happily offers to go to Sean's house to get some items. Of course, when he sees Sean's mom, he acts incredibly awkward around her. After this episode, his infatuation disappears.
  • Saying Sound Effects Out Loud: Jet wonders if the scientists could just blast asteroids away, then says "Pew! Pew pew!"
  • Staircase Tumble: Exaggerated. Jet somehow manages to tumble down the two-step staircase to Sean's house.
  • Status Quo Is God: At the end of the episode, the kids' treehouse is officially designated as an asteroid observation station, complete with a plaque. However, this is never seen or mentioned in any other episodes following this one. The plaque doesn't even show up again.
