Emily tries to rush the development of a new product to look good for corporate while simultaneously being a friend to her employees. Unfortunately, her employees are too distracted with their Fantasy Superhero League.
- A Rare Sentence: During the coda, we're told that the Flash will not be included in this year's fantasy super-hero league, as he got trapped in the Phantom Zone by Sinestro. (Why the arch nemesis of the Green Lantern Corps used Kryptonian tech against an Earthling speedster remains unsaid.)
- Bread, Eggs, Milk, Squick:Emily: I can't believe you put up with him all these years.Jackie: He always remembers my birthday, he got my really dumb kid into a really good school, and when my dog needed super-expensive surgery he paid for a guy to come to my house and put him down.
- Butt-Monkey: Susan suffers at the hands of everyone.
- Cool and Unusual Punishment: Emily takes the bullet for the team by watching a 6-hour corporate anti-bullying video four times in a row. Samuel states viewing it once has caused Navy SEALs to break.Samuel: There's a 75-minute song about name-calling performed by a puppet. Enjoy.
- Finger Gun: Van's photo has him doing these. Soon others start doing finger guns at him, which flatters him until he finds out it's because the picture got posted on the internet and went viral.
- Jerk Justifications: Samuel Greene, the head of Human Resources, engages in completely over-the-top quasi-random punishment of employees for breaking policies because—he admits—even he doesn't know what HR is supposed to do and so he has to do something that can be documented in reports in order to justify his employment.
- Literal-Minded: When Jackie explains to Van that she told the photographer Van was dying, Van asked her how long he has.
- Memetic Mutation: In-Universe. Van's finger gun photo goes viral, and pictures of the memes it created are posted around the "Wayne Dream Team" poster.
- Removed from the Picture: Because Van was a jerk, the photographer cropped out most of him from the "Wayne Dream Team" poster, leaving only his right arm. Jackie was able to get the missing part and somewhat fix the poster.
- Unusually Uninteresting Sight: Jack O'Lantern goes on a rampage causing explosions up and down the street, with people in line at a cupcake stand simply watching. When the flaming remains of a mailbox land crushing the table with all the cupcakes and pastries, with utterly no one reacting—with the possible exception of Emily who has just placed her order—the seller says in a completely bored voice that he's out of everything.
- In a visual pun, it's an "Air Mail" mailbox.
