Olivia takes the Pokémon School students to a farm where Stoutland are raised for Stoutland Search usage. The students are sent out on several treasure hunts. Which student will find the greatest treasure?
This episode contains examples of the following tropes:
- Comedic Underwear Exposure: Ash gets his pants yanked right off him by a Stoutland.
- Cuddle Bug: Unfortunately for Ash, the Stoutland that he chose is this.
- Deer in the Headlights: It takes literally all episode for Lillie to work up the courage to ride her Stoutland.
- Empathy Pet: When Ash was getting his pants yanked off by his Stoutland, Steenee was also covering her eyes. (But not peeking, unlike her trainer.) Pikachu, on the other hand, just stands there wearing his hat; he's seen it all before.
- Fire-Forged Friends: Lana finally earns the trust of her Stoutland in a battle against a wild Garbodor. This leads to it finding her a Shimmering Stone, the stone used to create Z-Rings.
- Funny Background Event: While Ash is choosing his Stoutland, Pikachu puts his hat on. This also counts as foreshadowing, as Pikachu will later put Ash's hat on as part of an improvised Z-move.
