With the second round beginning, the next few Pokémon matches begin.
- Agony of the Feet: During the battle between Bloxx and Chimplug, Chimplug accidentally steps on one of the hundreds of tiny blocks that Bloxx scatters across the battlefield, causing him to hop up and down on one foot in pain while trying to remove it. The crowd laughs at this display, much to Lightning's anger.
- Dude, Where's My Respect?: Even though she loses the match to Lightning, the crowd cheers for Pinkie for putting up a good fight anyways. This leaves Lightning feeling insulted, believing that everyone should be praising him instead for actually winning. All of Pinkie's friends chew Lightning out for his arrogance.
- Everyone Has Standards: Pinkie Pie is all about having fun, but she expresses complete disapproval of Lightning's boast that he finds enjoyment out of defeating and humiliating other trainers.
- Graceful Loser:
- Despite losing to Lightning, Pinkie retains her usual cheerfulness and thanks her friends for supporting her throughout the battle.
- Zig-Zagged with Rainbow Dash. Contrasting to her usually cocky personality, Rainbow takes her defeat in relative stride, comforting her defeated Tank, but her disappointment is apparent when she lightheartedly tells Doc that she'll win her rematch against him one day and that he better win the tournament.
- Hypocrite: Played for Laughs when Trixie mutters under her breath that Rainbow's loss will hopefully curb her ego, which Spike hears and remarks that it's ironic coming from her.
- The Runner-Up Takes It All: Although Pinkie and Bloxx lose to Lightning and Chimplug, the crowd watching all chant Pinkie and Bloxx's names after the battle for their entertaining performance and coming close to winning, while Lightning and Chimplug are almost completly ignored.
- So Proud of You: Pinkie tells Bloxx after their battle that she is proud of him for making everyone have a great time.
