After finally escaping Ghastly Gorge, the group decides to relax for a bit before continuing to Baltimare and Flash's third Gym Battle. They discoer the town they are currently in is having its annual fair today, and they all decide to enjoy themselves. While there, Pinkie meets another trainer named Cheese Sandwich, using his team of Bloxx to entertain everyone. But when she sees one of his Bloxx doesn't enjoy partying like the other five, she tries to help Cheese connect with it.
- Call-Back: At the beginning of the chapter, Twilight calls Solid Stone to tell him they made it through Ghastly Gorge okay, with Flash gloating to him that they're still alive.
- Continuity Nod: The group mentions the events of Pokémon the Movie: Total Eclixie of the Heart to Pinkie Pie, specifically how they missed the last festival they were at due to dealing with "mad scientists and giant robots". This just leaves Pinkie confused.
- Double Knockout: The battle between Pinkie's Jigglypuff and Cheese's Bloxx ends with both knocked out.
- Expy: Bloxx is based off the Ben 10 alien of the same name.
- Gentle Gorilla:
- Most of the Bloxxs on Cheese Sandwich's team play this straight, with all of them simply helping Cheese spread joy through parties and shapeshifting into various things to play with other Pokémon.
- The last Bloxx on Cheese's team seems to subvert this, not being interested in partying and launching a Wooper away as a catapult. Then it is Double Subverted when it is revealed he is actually a Jerk with a Heart of Gold that prefers to have fun battling. When Cheese gives him to Pinkie to take care of at the end, Bloxx surprises his old trainer by pulling him into a surprise hug.
- Rejecting the Consolation Prize: Flash smacks a Chatot plushie from the Flim Flam brothers offered to them to leave out of pity.Flash: It's not about the Chatot!
- Whole-Plot Reference: The B-story with Flash and Twilight trying to win a rigged ring toss game is taken directly from My Little Pony: Equestria Girls – Rollercoaster of Friendship, with Flash replacing Sunset's role.
