Recap / Pokémon EC 50 Lives Full of Harmony and Chaos

Go To

Three years have passed since Team Shadow's defeat and Flash defeated Shining Armor to become the new champion. In that time of peace, everyone has move on with their lives and continued towards their goals, helping to shape a great future in the world of Pokémon.

  • And the Adventure Continues: Three years have passed since Flash became the champion, and during that time he has kept his promise of protecting Equestria from any threats and ensure peace so that anyone with good dreams can achieve them. Meanwhile, all his friends continue to work towards their own goals, such as Spike now being a trainer on his own journey, Applejack still the Applewood City Gym Leader, Rainbow still training to be a Gym Leader, Fluttershy successfully creating a safe sanctuary for wild Pokémon, Rarity a Coordinator and Pokémon Fashion Designer, Pinkie opening a bakery in Baltimare City that doubles as a battlefield, and Twilight now a Professor and working in Celestia's old lab while Celestia and Luna travel and make discoveries with Sunset and Trixie. Also besides them, a new generation of trainers also have their own journeys, including the CMC, the Young Six, and the young trainers Twilight gives Starters to.
  • Babies Ever After:
    • Shining Armor and Cadance now have their daughter Flurry Heart, and are shown teaching her everything she will need to know about Pokémon.
    • It is shown that Hopper and Princess have three Hoppin offspring, and Hopper is raising his firstborn to replace him as King of Dragons someday.
  • Brainy Baby: Flurry Heart shows to be this even when just a year or two old. When she and her parents have a call with her Aunt Twilight, Flurry looks around the room quickly trying to find Flash. When Twilight says he is isn't there with her right now Flurry is disappointed, only to perk up when Twilight promises to have Flash call her when he gets back. Also, when Cadance asks Flurry what type of Pokémon she wants to learn about today, Flurry says she wants to learn about Fairy-types by crying out "Fair!", which Cadance understands.
  • Continuity Cavalcade: The kids at Camp Everfree excitedly discuss the various stories they heard about Flash's old adventures, including how he saved an entire city from being flooded, he threw a spear into the heart of a rock monster and made it shatter, and he defeated a monster that stole the power of Legendaries using only his bare hands.
  • Distant Finale: Three years have passed since the defeat of Team Shadow and Flash became the new champion. We see how the various characters, including minor and supporting characters, have continued with their lives in that time, working towards their goals and helping to shape a better tomorrow for the next generation.
  • Grand Finale: This chapter serves as the finale not just to Equestrian Champions, but the Harmony and Chaos series as a whole.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Timber gets enraged when all the kids at Camp Everfree stop being amazed by him and start asking questions about Flash, one even reminding him how Flash beat him like it was nothing. He growls that one day he will beat Flash and prove he's better than everyone else, with Gloriosa noting he says that every time someone mentions Flash's name.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Lightning Blitz and his team are shown to no longer be the jerkasses they previously were and are much more openly friendly. Though Lightning is still rivals with Flash and still wants to beat Flash and become champion himself, he now wants to do it "the right way".
  • Honorary Uncle: Flash is one for Flurry Heart. Cadance calls him Flurry's "pseudo-uncle", and Flurry clearly loves him, looking around for him excitedly during a call with Twilight only to be dissapointed when told he isn't there, and laughing happily when Twilight promises to have him call her when he gets back.
  • Karma Houdini Warranty: Though Big Score, Rickashay, and Boulder were always defeated by the heroes and their plans were constantly foiled, they always avoided any legal punishment for their crimes due to being blasted off. They were still free and active three years later, only for their luck to finally run out when Flash and his team stop them from catching multiple Flying-types, with Flash making sure they are captured and arrested by several Officer Hard Cases this time.
  • Last Episode, New Character: Flurry Heart is briefly introduced as part of Shining Armor and Cadance's new lives in the Crystal Empire. A few new trainers are also introduced, but go unnamed during their brief appearances, like the three trainers that Twilight gives their Starters to, the one that challenges Doc to a Gym Battle, and the one with an Arcanine that Lightning defeats.
  • Maybe Ever After: Multiple of the pairing that had Ship Tease in the series leave a few final ambiguous hints.
    • Derpy delivers a package to Doc, with him inviting her in to have a drink and share any stories she has with him about her adventures and ends up watching him battle a challenger.
    • Soarin invites Rainbow to grab something to eat with him after watching her win a training match against Spitfire, with the two laughing together while heading out. It is essentially him asking her out on a date.
    • Flash and Twilight are still dating after three years. When Flash calls Twilight and tells her he is heading back to Canterlot, they make plans to have a "extra special date" to make up for lost time, and the two telling each other they love each other before hanging up.
  • Once Done, Never Forgotten: When Timber brags to a group of kids at Camp Everfree that he actually competed in the Equestria League himself, one kids speaks up saying he remembers Timber, and that he didn't actually compete in the League because he lost to the champion in the qualifier.
  • Replacement Goldfish: Spike is shown to now have his own Stegoliath, like the one he previously befriended years ago.
  • Sore Loser:
    • Timber Spruce is still bitter about his loss against Flash after three years. Growling when all the kids at Camp Everfree start asking questions about Flash and sharing stories they heard about him instead of being amazed by Timber, with Timber declaring he'll beat Flash one day and prove he's better than everyone else.
    • The trainer that Lightning Blitz defeats is shown to be one. After she loses their battle, she growls that she will remember this before returning her Arcanine and running off.
  • Time Skip: Three years have passed since the previous chapter, showing where the characters are with their lives now and how they have continued towards their dreams.
