Worrying that Jeremy will forget her after he stars in a commercial, Candace participates on Phineas and Ferb's game show in an attempt to be noticed. Meanwhile, Doofenshmirtz plots to erase all airwaves in the Tri-State Area so he won't be tempted by any more infomercials.
Tropes:
- Bait-and-Switch: Doofenshmirtz's Scorch-inator, which he planned to use to destroy broadcasting towers in the Tri-State Area, isn't even used at all, let alone fired into Phineas and Ferb's TV studio set. Instead, Perry knocks Doofenshmirtz back into his old Shrink-inator, which then fires into the brothers' set, shrinking it to the size of a board game set.
- But Wait, There's More!: Said by Doofenshmirtz when he is explaining the Scorch-Inator to Perry the Platypus, infomercial style. note
- Call-Back: Candace once again calls Stacy a genius and Stacy again replies with, "Would you call my mom and tell her that?"
- Calvinball: "Let's Take A Quiz" seems to involve shouting random answers as fast as possible.
- Continuity Nod:
- Doof's Shrink-inator returns, first seen in "Does This Duckbill Make Me Look Fat?"; he apparently still hasn't remembered to unplug it. Also, the jingle in Jeremy's commercial is a rewrite of the "Slushy the Clown" jingle from the same episode.
- Phineas mentions Candace's allergies to parsnips (from "Jerk de Soleil") and dairy (from "Candace Loses Her Head"), and Buford having a soft spot for goldfish (from "Voyage to the Bottom of Buford").
- Cross Dresser: Ferb dresses up in four different woman's costumes throughout the game as a nod to Vanna White from Wheel of Fortune.
- Edible Ammunition: One of the as-seen-in-TV items Doofenshmirtz ordered is an air cannon that shoots burger patties, which he uses against Perry.
- Five-Second Foreshadowing: You can hear the Devors jingle briefly when Jeremy and Coltrane are watching television.
- Game Show Physical Challenge: In Phineas and Ferb's Calvinball-esque game show, physical challenges come with a Pie in the Face. Candace takes several of these during the episode and ends it Covered in Gunge and with a branch in her hair for some reason.
- Humiliating Wager: Agent P witnesses the result of a humiliating wager between Major Monogram and Carl. We don't find out what the bet was for, but apparently Monogram lost, and as a result, has to give Carl a massage, and be used as a ventriloquist dummy by Carl. What the bet doesn't involve is Monogram dressing up as a clown.
- Incredible Shrinking Man: Perry fires Doofenshmirtz's Shrink-inator at him, causing his entire body to shrink except for his right hand, which crushes him flat.
- Literal Metaphor: After Phineas tells Candace "You're on fire!", Candace (who has a bag over her head) briefly worries she's actually on fire.
- Pie in the Face: Candace gets repeated pies in the face as part of the show's physical challenge section.
- Powder Gag: In a gag taken from the old Milton Berle show, Candace shouts, "MAKEUP!", and gets whacked with a giant powderpuff, and ends up covered in white powder.
- Retail Therapy: Doof has developed an addiction to ordering random things from TV informercials.
- Shout-Out: "Let's Take a Quiz" riffs on several real-life game shows, including Wheel of Fortune (Ferb in a dress posing in front of a board of words), Jeopardy! (Phineas notes that "All questions must be phrased in the form of an answer", a reversal of the show's most famous rule) and Double Dare (with the physical challenge rounds).
- Suddenly Voiced: One of Jeremy's band members from Jeremy and the Incidentals, Coltrane, has speaking lines voiced by Corbin Bleu, Ashley Tisdale's (Candace) old High School Musical co-star.
- Title Drop: The title of this episode is the same as the title of the in-universe game show, name-dropped by the theme song and Phineas at the beginning of the game show.
- The Unreveal: Did Candace win Let's Take a Quiz? Even Candace wants to know who won.
- Watch Out for That Tree!: Candace is so preoccupied with running up to her brothers that she fails to notice she is about to run into the closed glass sliding door.
