An old movie theater, built with an ancient Egyptian theme, used to house a mummy exhibit. Thus Phineas and Ferb decide to go to the basement to search for their own mummy. Unfortunately for Candace, she gets chased by a runaway giant gumball machine while trying to stop her brothers, and starts a chain of events where she gets mistaken for a mummy.
Meanwhile, Perry must thwart Dr. Doofenshmirz from raising the sea level by 2%, thus flooding shorelines just enough to turn his home into beachfront property (as opposed to being a block from the beach).
Tropes
- Air Vent Escape: Subverted. Candace fits in it fine, but quickly falls out back into the same problem.
- Booby Trap: Phineas thinks the runaway gumball machine, and then a flood, are these.
- Coincidental Accidental Disguise: Candace ends up wrapped in toilet paper like a mummy, and can only moan incoherently thanks to having a mouth full of old bubblegum.
- Department of Redundancy Department: The boys pose by a standee promoting Safari Man 2: Now in 2D.
- Early-Installment Weirdness: This is the only episode where Candace attempts to bust her brothers to her stepfather, while in future episodes, he willingly goes along with the boys' Big Ideas.
- Failed a Spot Check: Phineas and Ferb somehow don't notice the shape of Candace's head under the "mummy's" bandages, let alone some of her hair being exposed.
- Foreshadowing: To the next episode, "Flop Starz"; the Lindana song "I'm Lindana and I Wanna Have Fun" appears, as elevator music, no less.
- Good-Times Montage: An Imagine Spot (complete with song) about how much fun P & F are going to have with a mummy.
- In-Joke: The magic words used to bring the mummy to life in the movie are "Owa tagu siam". It appears to be a foreign language, but if you say it out loud, you are actually saying, "Oh, what a goose I am", which is often used as a children's prank, and was also used in an episode of The Odd Couple.
- Literal-Minded: The explorer in the movie says "Well, beat me with a chicken" as an idiom, and the mummy grabs a rubber chicken and whacks away.
- Literary Allusion Title: The title is a parody of the 1960 children's book Are You My Mother? by P.D. Eastman.
- Opening Shout-Out: The mummy in "My Undead Mummy and Me" resembles the one during the "Fighting a mummy" part of the theme song.
- Oh Wait, This Is My Grocery List: Major Monogram gives Agent P a list of strange items that Doofenshmirtz has bought, but accidentally swaps it with his grocery list. He then gives him the correct list.
- Separated by a Common Language: Upon hearing Phineas calling for "mummy", Lawrence thinks Phineas is referring to his mother rather than an actual mummy.
- Shout-Out: While Phineas and Ferb ride the prop mummy tomb down the flooded floor, a photo of them is taken similar to the ones taken on Splash Mountain.
- Uncomfortable Elevator Moment: Between Candace and the runaway gumball machine.
- Uncommon Time: The music that plays when Mummy Candace chases Phineas and Ferb, and later, vice versa, uses a mix of 7/8 and 15/8 time signatures.
