"It's a S'Winter S'Wonderland! Unusual and grand!"

Well there's snow on the ground
There's sleigh-bells all around
But the sun's beating down
'Cause it's S'Winter

The day looks too hot for Phineas and Ferb to do anything, until their dad gives them his snowcone machine. That gives Phineas an idea; he uses the machine to make it snow that day, since snow falls in winter, when it's too cold to enjoy it. Phineas decides to come up with a new name for the season: "S'Winter".

Meanwhile, Dr. Doofenshmirtz plans on using thousands of laser pointers to melt chocolate, collect it, and then reform it into his image to make him more likable.

Tropes

  • Advanced Tech 2000: Doofenshmirtz's invention of the day, the Melt-Inator 6-5000.
  • Bait-and-Switch: By all accounts, it seems that the Meltinator 6-5000 is going to be what gets rid of the giant pile of snow in the Flynn-Fletcher backyard. What actually happens is that when Doofenshmirtz plugs it in, it blows out the power grid, shutting down the cooling fans the boys were using and then causing the entire mountain of snow to melt away.
  • Big Blackout: Doofenshmirtz plugs in his machine, which sucks up enough energy to cause a blackout.
  • Brick Joke: When Phineas introduces S'Winter to Candace, he mentions that "some people call it 'Wummer'". When Lawrence finally reaches the backyard and Candace tells him about S'Winter, he says, "I think that would be 'Wummer', wouldn't it?".
  • Broke the Rating Scale: A variation, where Doofenshmirtz's laser has a melting capacity of 7, on a scale of 1 to 5.
  • Comically Missing the Point:
    • Doofenshmirtz froze Perry. Of course Perry couldn't say whether or not he understood Doofenshmirtz's plan.
    • Phineas thinks Candace screaming on the snowboard is getting into the rush.
  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: Candace becomes insanely jealous of Jeremy's new exchange-student friend, who looks like a gorgeous Swedish girl from the back. Said student turned out to be....
D.D.: Derek Dukenson, but you can call me 'D.D.'
  • Early-Installment Weirdness:
    • This is one of very few episodes this season in which Candace wants to bring both her parents to see the Big Idea; in the rest of the show, she only wants to bring just Linda.
    • Doofenshmirtz's Evil Jingle is heard despite it not really looking like his usual lair. Also, the spelling of his name is not agreed upon as he shows his "Schmirtz-o-Graph", when it would usually be shown without the C.
  • Exposed to the Elements: While much of the townsfolk wear winter clothes to S'Winter, some attendees like Phineas, Ferb, Candace, and Jeremy are seen with their regular clothes, and others are in swimsuits.
  • Face Palm: A smacking one's face in a snowcone variant; Candace buries her face into a snowcone after failing to bust her brothers yet again.
  • Gender Reveal: The exchange student is actually a guy.
  • Gone Horribly Right: Candace tries to ride a ski lift to catch up to Jeremy, but since she's afraid of heights, she ties herself hard to the ski lift chair. She's unable to untie herself when it's time to get off the lift.
  • Instant Ice: Just Add Cold!: Candace falls into a cold lake and comes out trapped in a block of ice.
  • It's the Best Whatever, Ever!: At the end:
Phineas: You know what, Ferb? Today was the best S'Winter day ever.
  • Lampshade Hanging: When Candace is caught on the same snowboard with P & F, but behind them, the boys wonder why things they hit seem to pass them and smack into Candace.
    Phineas: That's just weird.
  • Left the Background Music On: When Doofenshmirtz waits for Perry to enter through the front door, some ominous piano chords are played in the background. The camera then pans up to show a pianist playing a piano... which Doofenshmirtz intends to drop on Perry the Platypus.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Candace decides not to go up the ski lift with Jeremy, and then he gets on the lift with an exchange student from Sweden.
  • Overly Narrow Superlative: Phineas saying "Today was the best S'Winter day ever" counts as this since it's the only S'Winter day ever.
  • Plot Hole: Doofenshmirtz waits to plug in the Melt-inator 6-5000 because it drains a lot of power - despite the fact that he had successfully used it twice before that.
  • Portmanteau: Summer + Winter = S'Winter, but some people call it "Wummer".
  • Pretty in Mink: Several girls playing in the snow have cute fur-trimmed coats.
  • Punny Name: All the guys in the bobsled team Phineas, Ferb and Candace pass by are named Bob.
  • Shout-Out:
    • The title song is done in the style of the Ronettes' cover of "Sleigh Ride".
    • Doofenshmirtz's invention is called the Meltinator 6-5000, in reference to the Glenn Miller song "Pennsylvania 6-5000".
  • Singing Voice Dissonance: The voices that Isabella and some of the Fireside Girls have while singing this episode's song don't sound anything like their normal voices.
  • Swiss-Cheese Security: Perry gets around Doof’s current trap set up in his front door by walking in from the back door.
Doofenshmirtz: Oh, I told Nancy to keep the back door locked! Note to self: My evil deed for tomorrow? Fire the maid.
  • Title Theme Drop: An instrumental version of the theme song plays when Candace accidentally lands on Phineas and Ferb's snowboard.
  • Toilet Humor: Lampshaded. Perry is trapped in a brown solution and Doofenshmirtz says, "Don't worry, it's not what you think. It's my recipe for quick hardening chocolate."
  • Victory Is Boring: Doofenshmirtz seems a little bummed when he thinks Perry might not have escaped and tried to thwart his plan. He counts down from 5 when he gets ready to fire the inator, but he slows his countdown down to give Perry a chance to participate.
