Paperinik is brought to the twenty-third century to help the future police against a threat: an evolved breed of stronger Evronians. But not everything in the future is what it seems.
- All for Nothing: Earth is still fighting the Evronians, centuries in the future, meaning that ultimately, Donald's heroics failed to save earth permanently. Subverted when it turns out that the Evronians really are long defeated for good, and the whole thing was faked.
- Bilingual Bonus / Meaningful Name: Odin Eidolon's name. He foreshadows it by telling it has more meanings than the nordic name. Odin means "One" in Russian, and an Eidolon is a possessing spirit in Classical Mythology.
- Driven to Suicide: Grrodon the last Evrononian, who remained on Earth alone for three centuries after Paperinik destroyed the Evron Empire, tries to transform the hero into a Coolflame in the future. However, thanks to a gun created by Odin Eidolon, he fails. Desperate, Grrodon steals a flying car and heads for the space, knowing that the car will explode. Could count as an Alas, Poor Villain.
- Forever War: Humanity has been fighting the Evronian Empire since PK's days. Subverted when it turns out that there is no war, the entire thing was staged.
- I'm Your Biggest Fan: Odin Eidolon claims to be this for Paperinik.
- It Only Works Once: The gun Odin Eidolon gives to Paperinik.
- Mutant: The new breed of evronians are a mutated strain of the ones PK fought. Paperinik, in a rare moment of booksmarts, sees through the deception when he realizes that the entire evronian race wouldn't have mutated that drastically over just a few centuries.
- Really 700 Years Old: Odin and Grrodon alike are at least 300 years old.
- The Reveal: Which one of the new characters is the Evronian Deep Cover Agent.
- Sue Donym: The Evronian's alias is very similar to his actual Evronian name.
- Super-Soldier: The evronians are a mutant subrace of the kind Donald has fought, represented by them being bigger and more muscular, with different colored beaks. Grrodon would later be revealed as a shapeshifter, but in this issue is just wearing a mask.
- Two Aliases, One Character: Uno and Odin Eidolon.
