On a seemingly normal night of crime-fighting, Paperinik returns to the Ducklair Tower only to find noneother than Everett Ducklair himself. Having returned from Dhasam-Bul, Everett has bought back the tower from Scrooge and intends to stay to take care of his business like before... which means, One and PK are no longer needed. Having lost his job, lair and best friend, Donald has to start from scratch. However, there's something mysterious in the depths of Ducklair Tower, a Delta Level Everett is extremely protective of... far too much.


This Issue contains examples of:

  • All for Nothing: Ducklair's exceptional measures which cases panic and mayhem in the mall are ultimately wasted, as PK didn't actually saw what was going on in Level Delta.
  • Big Damn Heroes: When the berserk Verifier is about to attack PK on the Mall's roof, Everett arrives to stop it.
  • Butt-Monkey: Donald, and not always in a good way: among various things, he ends up smashing half of his furniture after accidentally activating the Pi-Kar and loses it after turning it into a garbage chute which was taken away, forcing him to spend nights looking for it.
  • Conflict Ball: True, Everett claims that PK is not his enemy. Sending a highly dangerous security robot in a crowded mall to hunt him down to check wether or not he actually saw what was going on in Delta level rather than use a more subdued approach was stupid, unpractical and uncalled for.
  • Conspicuous Trenchcoat: The Verifier shows up with one when he proceeds to stalk Donald.
  • Darker and Edgier: This issue is much more serious and tragic than many others from the New Adventures series.
  • Fee Fi Faux Pas: In an attempt to show PK that he's far from ungrateful for his work and not an enemy, Ducklair offers him a large suitcase full of money. PK gets seriously offended and asks to leave immediately.
  • Final Speech: After learning that Uno was deactivated, Donald receives the Pi-Kar disguised as a fridge and a cd-rom containing Uno's final, touching farewell speech.
  • Futile Hand Reach: When Uno's registration is about to self-delete, Donald's hand actually rises towards the screen.
  • Just a Machine: In a supremely assholish moment, Everett dismisses Uno (who PK just called a friend) as an excellent machine and nothing more. Defied by Uno's final speech.
    "Do you see, hero? I dream. I hope. I suffer. And this can only mean... that I am alive... and as long as you remember me, I will never disappear. Goodbye, my friend."
  • Knight Templar: Everett has his agenda to follow. And he's more than willing to go to any length to keep said agenda up.
  • Mind over Matter: Everett uses telekhinesis to dismantle and destroy the Verifier.
  • Moral Myopia: After destroying the Verifier, Everett is furious at PK for "getting in his way", apparently forgotting about sending a potentially dangerous and well-armed robot in a crowded mall.
  • Needle in a Stack of Needles: When the Pi-Kar disguised as a garbage can is taken away, Donald has to search a whole deposit of garbage cans to find it.
  • Nothing Is the Same Anymore: Everett Ducklair is back, the Evronians are gone, Uno is deactivated, PK is no longer welcome in the Tower and has a new job as a security guard in the Mall. Oh, and Angus is no longer interested in PK and is looking for the next target.
  • Ocular Gushers: After putting on a nonchalant facade with his nephews, Donalds breaks into tears of sorrow having accidentally destroyed half his furniture and a television he just finished paying for.
  • Poor Communication Kills: Had Everett decided to trust PK a little more and sit down to discuss things clearly and peacefully, the whole series would have been much more different.
  • Put on a Bus: Uno, who's deactivated by Everett as he's no longer required. He eventually returns in the New Era series.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Mortimer Mood, Donald new boss, is overall caring, understanding and encouraging.
  • Secret-Keeper: Having quickly read PK's mind, Everett learns that he's Donald Duck, but swears to keep it a secret.
  • The Stinger: In the epilogue, we see Everett in the secret room of Level Delta, talking to a cryogenic capsule and addressing his daughter, Juniper.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Everett Ducklair is no longer the kind and wise man seen in New Adventure, but he's much more ruthless, paranoic, abrasive and obstructive.
  • Wham Line: Everett announcing that he deactivated Uno is one, but there's also one near the end:
    "He doesn't know... noone knows... good night, my daugther."
