- While McManus's vindictiveness against Ryan causes him to be disturbingly indifferent about Tarrant, he is still sympathetic enough to lend him some slippers.
- Politically Incorrect Villain: Ryan drops the n-word about Kenny Pierce and Poet while talking to Tarrant.
- Pay Evil unto Evil:
- Tarrant kills Kenny and Pierce to pay them back for tormenting him.
- Moses is on death row for killing his wife and lover after finding out she's been married to him behind his back.
- Villain Has a Point: Given what happens in future episodes, Keller is right that helping Vern find his son is a very bad idea.
