- A Day in the Limelight: This time it goes to Caputo showing that he had dislocated his shoulder in a wrestling match in his youth, then gave up his dreams of rockstardom to raise a family with his girlfriend, even though he's not the father, as well as show his first few days in Litchfield as a CO.
- Attempted Rape: Downplayed. Boo is harassing Penn about having sex with her so Penn can finally deal with the crushing reality that she was raped by Coates.
- Blatant Lies: Piper tells Alex she has nothing to worry about, when in reality she's cheating with Stella.
- The Bus Came Back: Even though it's a flashback, Rosa appears with a full head of hair pre-cancer.

- Put on a Bus: Subverted with Angie. She's mistakenly released early because the new COs confuse her with another inmate who has the same last name. She's given $40 and a bus voucher and is dropped off at the bus station by the time the error is discovered. When Caputo arrives, she's still there, having nowhere to go and no idea what to do. He still puts her in the SHU for a few days in order to punish her without adding more time to her sentence.
- Revealing Hug: After apologizing to Piper thinking she's going crazy over nothing (Piper having an affair) Alex hugs her, and it's clear that Piper is in deep denial about her infidelity with Stella.
