"I Slept With Someone in Fall Out Boy and All I Got Was This Stupid Song Written About Me" is the nineteenth episode of Season 3 of One Tree Hill and originally aired March 1st, 2006. The episode was written by Bill Brown and directed by cast member Moira Kelly.

Lucas struggles to play basketball in the wake of Keith’s death. Mouth is shocked when Brooke takes her feud with Rachel to a new, more personal low. Meanwhile Nathan and Haley's wedding plans are put to the test, and Peyton receives a reality check when it comes to her relationship with Pete.

Contains examples of the following tropes:

  • Boyfriend-Blocking Dad:
    • When Pete turns up in the middle of the night to see Peyton and she tries to sneak out to see him, Larry’s already waiting downstairs for Peyton, and ultimately sends Pete away.
    • Larry speaks to Peyton about the type of the boys that she dates, and what he wants for her.
Larry: Just promise me one thing. Promise me that when you pick the boy you’re really gonna be with that he’ll be someone who respects you and treats you well. And it’s someone who makes your heart race. And that he’s someone who you love because of what he is, not what he does. Because that’s how I felt about your mother, and that’s how I want you to feel one day. Use your head and follow your heart.
  • The Bus Came Back:
    • Deb returns to Tree Hill after leaving in "Brave New World".
    • Nathan’s Uncle Cooper returns to Tree Hill.
  • The Cameo:
    • Craig Sheffer appears as Keith Scott through the use of archive footage.
    • Bryan Greenberg appears as Jake Jagielski in the final scene of the episode.
  • Creator Cameo: Show runner Mark Schwahn plays Fall Out Boy’s manager in a voice-only capacity when he answers Pete’s cellphone as Peyton calls during a show.
  • Dramatic Irony: Cooper gives Lucas a big speech about how losing racing wasn’t the end of the world for him, completely unaware of Lucas’ HCM and instead applying the situation to Lucas’ inability to play basketball since Keith.
  • Failed a Spot Check: When Larry asks about Pete, Peyton and Brooke start rattling off his accomplishments as Fall Out Boy’s lead songwriter; Larry has to clarify he wasn’t asking about "Pete from Fall Out Boy" but rather Pete, the boy.
  • Due to the Dead: The Ravens away jerseys now have a 'KS' patch above their hearts to pay tribute to the late Keith Scott.
  • Game-Breaking Injury: Not an injury per se, but Lucas coming clean about his HCM means he has to quit the Ravens.
  • The Ghost: Whilst Pete speaks to Peyton on the phone and returns to Tree Hill to visit her, he’s never actually seen or heard during the episode.
  • Internal Reveal: Lucas comes clean about his HCM to Nathan, Whitey and Karen.
  • The Reveal:
    • Whitey reveals how he got his nickname, and the significance of the gym the Ravens have been playing in all season.
    • The 20-something model that Cooper is dating is actually Rachel.
  • Sleepwalking: Brooke’s obvious excuse when she sneaks into the Sawyer home after curfew and walks in on Larry and Peyton discussing her relationship with Pete.
  • Titled After the Song: The episode title is taken from the song "I Slept With Someone in Fall Out Boy and All I Got Was This Stupid Song Written About Me" by Fall Out Boy.
  • Trauma Button: Lucas finds himself unable to play basketball following Keith’s death.
  • Wham Shot:
    • Mouth arrives at Rachel’s home with flowers, intending to admit his feelings for her, only for Cooper to interrupt and call Rachel "Babe".
    • Peyton getting off the plane after apparently flying out to see Pete, only for her to meet Jake and Jenny instead.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Mouth calls Brooke out for posting pictures of Rachel before her weight loss across town, asking if she learnt nothing from what happened with Jimmy.
