Recap / OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes S 1 E 40 Villains' Night Out

Go To

Lord Boxman forces his way into an exclusive Villains party.

Tropes:

  • Affectionate Parody: The video involving Boxman fighting K.O. is a spoof of Looney Tunes.
  • Butt-Monkey: Boxman treats Big Bull Demon like this throughout the entire party.
  • Detonation Moon: During the Explode-Off, Cosma uses her powers to levitate Billiam's missiles and sends them to the moon, blowing it up.
  • Did You Just Flip Off Cthulhu?: During the Explode-Off, Billiam Milliam chose to blow up an island. Cosma chose to blow up the moon. What did Boxman choose to blow up? P.O.I.N.T. Headquarters. While the missiles didn't do any damage to the HQ, the HQ's automated defense system activates and blows up parts of Billiam's yacht (which was what Boxman wanted anyway).
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: Venomous asking to be Boxman's partner in crime looks remarkably like he's asking him to go steady.
  • The Dreaded: P.O.I.N.T. is feared by even powerful villains like Cosma.
  • Dreadful Musician: When Boxman is doing karaoke, he sings so badly that everyone is forced to cover their ears. It also makes Cosma nauseous.
  • Evil Is Petty: Boxman actually came to the villain's party just to ruin it out of spite.
  • Flung Clothing: Boxman does this three times in a row when asking if he can go with Venomous to the party; first, he changes from his usual attire to a purple Tacky Tuxedo, then into a 90s-era rapper outfit, then to a singlet and parachute pants, the last of which he wears for the remainder of the episode.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: A closer look at the wide shot of Billiam's yacht shows that Mr. and Mrs. The Monarch are among the villainous guests.
  • Mass "Oh, Crap!": All the partygoers have this reaction when it's revealed the place that Boxman sent the missiles to blow up is P.O.I.N.T. HQ.
  • Multi-Part Episode: This episodes goes along with "Villains Night In", where we see the perspective of Boxman and Venomous at the party.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: After Cosma blew up the moon, it's shown that Cool Sun saw the whole thing, and, not wanting to be next, quickly leaves the area.
  • Ship Tease: Much like "We're Captured," this episode lays on Boxman/Venomous subtext pretty thick, from Boxman's eagerness to be Venomous' guest to the party to Venomous at the end admitting that he likes Boxman and offering to become his official business partner, which Boxman happily accepts.
  • Sucks at Dancing: Boxman's dancing is so bad that it made everybody feel uncomfortable.
  • Synchronous Episodes: With Villain’s Night In.
  • Troll: Throughout the party, Boxman was making a complete fool of himself and annoying the other partygoers. It may seem like he's oblivious to his own actions, but then he revealed to Venomous that he's fully aware that the other villains hate him and he attended the party to let them know he doesn't care what they think and they'll never stop him from doing what he wants.
  • Underdressed for the Occasion: Boxman attends the formal party dressed in just an undershirt and baggy pants
  • Underestimating Badassery: Boxman's peers think him a Harmless Villain, but he manages to have the last laugh by deliberately ruining their party.
  • The Unreveal: We never find out what exactly is Boxman's secret project involving glorbs is.
  • Villain Episode: This episode focuses on Boxman and Venomous at Billiam Milliam's party with the other villains. The Bodega team briefly appeared only in the beginning.
  • Villain Team-Up: Boxman and Venomous team up formally.
