While Naomi and her friends are trying to find the alien at the anniversary party, things take a turn for the worse when Commander Steel shows up.
- Bait-and-Switch: At first it seems like Naomi put Steel into a coma with her powers unwillingly.... then it turns out her parents did it!
- Fantastic Racism: Steel makes it abundantly clear that he doesn't just want to defend Earth against potential hostile alien threats, he wants to eliminate any and all aliens.
- Faux Affably Evil: Steel at first acts nice and amicable towards Greg, but he quickly makes it clear that he knows about Naomi and that he plans on going after her.
- How We Got Here: The episode keeps flashing to Naomi and her friends and family being interrogated about an event involving Commander Steel. It then slowly shows what transpired during and after the anniversary party.

- Annabelle learns that Naomi and Nathan are back together.
- Zumbado and Dee learn that Commander Steel found Naomi's birth rock.
- Living Lie Detector: Naomi is described as this word for word, as she can hear people's heartbeats.
- No Social Skills: Dee's are on display once more, as he is incredibly uncomfortable around people and wearing suits.
- "Not So Different" Remark: When Naomi tells Nathan that they shouldn't keep secrets from each other, Nathan points out that she is obviously also keeping something from him.
- Red Herring: Nathan is hinted to be the alien throughout the episode, as Naomi can tell he is hiding something from his heartbeat, but then it turns out he was just preparing a surprise for her in her locker.
- The Reveal: Greg and Jennifer are aliens themselves.
- Shout-Out: Several, among others to works from Agatha Christie, like Crooked House or The Incredible Theft, because Annabelle is a fan of hers. James Bond also gets a mention, with Jacob being compared to Q.
