  • A Glass of Chianti: Virgil sips from a cup of what looks like wine while he's having a bath with his clothes on. He later remarks "It's Gatorade!"
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: Patton has an offscreen wife, Roman is shown flirting with princesses and the title refers to the Sides as personalities.note
  • The Ghost: Patton's wife in this short, Barbara, to whom Patton speaks or who he mentions, but we never see or hear at all, even when Patton is sustaining a conversation with her.
  • Hypocritical Humor: Logan is sitting on a desk forbidding some off-screen students to eat food on their desks... while immediately procceding to eat a piece of pizza in front of them.
  • I Love the Smell of X in the Morning: Subverted when Roman is about to compliment the smell of roses in the morning... and instead smells a dog defecating and has to move away.
  • Literal-Minded: Virgil tries to relax following advice given to him by the audience, but takes the advice too literally and it unsurprisingly doesn't work to relax him: they first tell him to rest in a tub, and he gets in without water. When warned, he still doesn't feel it, because he didn't take his clothes off. When warned, he just says that's not gonna happen.
  • No Fourth Wall: The Sides speak to the camera all the time as if conscious someone was watching. Virgil even reacts to the implied audience suggestions on how to relax better.
  • Shout-Out: Mean Girls: Roman, with his sunglasses on, while he's on a car's wheel, says "Get in, princesses, we're going shopping"
  • Visual Pun: Patton mentions a "hot dog", to reveal a real dog lying down, sunbathing.
