Tropes
- All for Nothing: The main task was to capture the entire Paranormal Liberation Front and the remaining League of Villain members. However, the rules changed when they discovered Shigaraki was being "upgraded". Preventing him from roaming free became crucial but he and his cohorts' escape amounted to this in the end.
- The Bad Guy Wins: Of all the Villains to come out on top, even All For One, it has to be Dabi. He was unable to kill Shoto or Endeavor as planned, but he does defeat his brother. Not to mention his broadcast from earlier will likely have a lasting effect in the country when the battle finally comes to an end. It helps that he always kept his own goals separate from his 'allies' and is implied to have deliberately manipulated Hawks' infiltration — and thus allowed the events of the arc to occur — specifically to gain the material needed for his anti-hero crusade whilst also spiting his father.
- Downer Ending: The Heroes bring down Gigantomachia and apprehend a self-injured Mr. Compress. Unfortunately, with a consciousness of All For One completely taking over Shigaraki, he rallies seven Nomu so the remaining Villains can escape. All available Heroes are either tending to the wounded, too wounded or injured or unconscious to pursue, or even dead. However, the full extent of the raid and evacuation aftermath are not yet known until next episode.
- Chekhov's Gun: Remembering what the disembodied hands do for his leader, Spinner puts the last remaining, albeit damaged, one on Shigaraki's face to wake him up.
- Dramatic Unmask: Mr. Compress reveals his full face for the first time.
- Flashback: Mr. Compress recalls how the League was trying to scrape for money and food before they clashed with the Meta Liberation Army. They trespassed and killed a Klan-like group called the Creature Rejection Clan, and later sees Spinner confronting Shigaraki if they are still have a purpose in changing Hero Society according to Stain, as his resentment came from its inability to stop the ongoing bigotry against Heteromorphs like him. Dispite their differences, Compress never regretted teaming up with them, and so he is inspired to make a last-ditch effort to save them all from the Heores.
- Gone Horribly Right: Spinner finally succeeds in waking up Shigaraki, but...
- Hijacked by Ganon: Following his defeat by All Might during the Kamino Raid Arc, All For One has been sitting comfortably in a maximum security prison while entrusting Shigaraki to carry on his Villainous Legacy. That seems to change by the time this arc ends; his consciousness finally takes over Shigaraki's body to escape Deku and the other Heroes, becoming the main antagonist once again.
- Insult Backfire: Dabi once called Spinner an "empty cosplayer" for dressing up as Stain. Spinner at least agreed to the "empty" part since he feels the League was lost in purpose after dealing with Overhaul.
- Life-or-Limb Decision: How Mr. Compress escapes from Best Jeanist's Fiber Master Quirk: Once by using his own Compress Quirk to gouge his buttock and loosen the fiber ropes, then again after his clothes are affected by destroying them, along with chunks of his skin. He is left a bleeding mess by the time everyone else save for him and Machia escapes.
- Oh, Crap!: Deku's Danger Sense practically screaming at him that "All For One" is back.
- The Reveal:
- Deku remembers the Spider-Sense ability called "Danger Sense", belonging to the 4th OFA user according to the notes he and All Might shared.
- Mr. Compress reveals himself to have come from a long line of "Bandit Kings", who steal from "greedy" Heroes Just Like Robin Hood.
- Villain: Exit, Stage Left: Thanks to Mr. Compress, Shigaraki/All For One wakes up to make their escape with Dabi, Spinner, Mr. Skeptic, and a handful of Nomu. Toga had already left the battle scene following her clash with Uravity and Froggy.
- Villain Respect: Despite calling him "useless", AFO compliments Deku's tenacity equalling that of All Might's as he tries to chase after him.
- We Need a Distraction: Mr. Compress knows he doesn't stand a chace against Heroes like Lemillion, so he puts on a spectacal by escaping and distracting everyone while Spinner tries to wake Shigaraki up.
- We Will Meet Again: AFO ad verbatim, promising to fight Deku again when Shigaraki heals fully.
- Wham Line: Deku is pushed back by Shigaraki/All For One and no longer able to chase after him. However, as he loses consciousness and spites Shigaraki for causing so much chaos and killing so many people, he remembers seeing him struggle against his former master in the One For All mindspace and internally comes to a possible realization:Midoriya: You look like... you wanted to be saved...
- The Worf Effect: Lemillion is incapacitated by the more powerful Shigaraki/AFO as the latter prefers that rather than waste time on an "unpredictable" Quirk user.
