Tropes:

  • Armor-Piercing Response: Toga continues to fight Uraraka to ask why Heroes should treat people like her like the Villains they are just because of the their past or instincts, no matter how badly they try to change. Considering Toga's past actions, Uravity gives her a simple answer.
Uraraka: Threaten people so you can do what you want, and you deserve what's coming to you!
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: Natsuo wished that everyone would see Endeavor for the abusive monster he is, or at least used to be, and boy did his thought-to-have-been-dead brother Toya delivered in the middle of the League of Villains's attack with a broadcast of his life story.
  • Big Damn Hero:
    • Froppy arrives to back up Uravity, forcing Toga to retreat.
    • Nejire and Iida arrive to tend to the wounded. Nejire helps Shoto fight Shigaraki.
    • Best Jeanist arrives to the end of the episode to interrupt Dabi.
  • Breaking Speech: Dabi spends the latter half of the episode ripping into Endeavor, emotionally and psychologically. He expresses how he wanted the Pro to suffer, especially when he unexpectedly became the new No. 1. He then throws this in Endeavor's face to emphasize that he doesn't deserve forgiveness or redemption from anyone:
Dabi: Must have been a heavy burden to achieve your dream after so long. But you were soothed by public adoration, weren't you? Is that why you finally decided to try to bond with your children? Just keep looking towards the future and you could be a better man?! What, nothing to say? WELL ALLOW ME: "The past never dies." YOU WILL REAP EVERYTHING YOU'VE SOWN!!!
  • Call-Back:
    • Toga tells Uraraka that her Transform Quirk has evolved to the point of mimicking another person's abilities, and reveals how she killed a handful of Meta Liberation Army members with an imitation of the student's Gravity Quirk. Naturally, Uraraka's downright disgusted.
    • Asui reminds Toga that only her friends can her "Tsu", and she's certainly not one of them.
  • Cliffhanger: Dabi prepares to deliver the final blow on Endeavor, via a fusion of the Hero's own Flashfire Fist: Prominence Burn... only for Best Jeanist to stop him.
  • Daddy DNA Test: Dabi mocks Endeavor by saying that he can use the Villain's skin or blood to test if his claims being Toya are true, only to reveal he already did a paternity test and disclosed the results in his broadcast. It is said to be a 99.99% match, though Dabi expects the public will need further convincing.
  • Did Not See That Coming: Midoriya remembers Shoto and his sister Fuyumi briefly talking about a brother named Toya, and is among the shocked when Dabi claims to be him. Hell, even the villains didn't expect their ally to come from such lineage.
  • Do Not Adjust Your Set: Dabi uses Mr. Skeptic to hijack all of Japan's TV stations and streaming sites to broadcast a video with him revealing his identity, connections to Endeavor, and what amounts to one big smear campaign on him and Hawks, as well as all Heroes.
  • Hannibal Lecture: Dabi explains in his broadcast how he became the Villain he is today, thanks to Endeavor's abusive upbringing of him and Shoto, the abuse towards their mother, and shows a paternity test to prove he is indeed Endeavor's son. He goes even further when he shows an uncensored, if not slightly altered, video of Hawks killing Twice, claims that the No. 2 Pro Hero also killed No. 3 Pro Hero Best Jeanist, and reveals that Hawks' father was a petty criminal, which was why he hid his real name. He then spends the rest of the video telling people to "wake up" and see that the Heroes are just "using" them for their own selfish needs.
  • Hiding in Plain Sight: His charred/stitched body and former hair dye aside, Dabi shoots down Endeavor's constant denial about his reveal by stating that despite fire-based Quirks being so common, the Pro never stopped to think about how close he was to him until now.
  • History Repeats: Because of his desperation to beat Shigaraki, Deku's limbs are once again shot and he is barely able to move.
  • Internal Reveal:
    • The episode opens up with Best Jeanist being escorted to the battlefield by plane. Dabi claims that Hawks "killed" Jeanist, but he and the Heroes in the area see Jeanist arrive in the end just in time to intercept Dabi.
    • Toga tells Uraraka that her blood and Gravity Quirk helped her kill a bunch of MLA members.
  • Long-Lost Relative: Dabi reveals himself to be Toya, the eldest Todoroki son everyone in the family thought died long time ago. Endeavor refuses to believe it, but it is enough to keep him frozen.
  • Mass "Oh, Crap!": Deku and the entire Todoroki family are shocked over Dabi's true identity.
  • Near-Villain Victory: If not for Best Jeanist arriving in the nick of time, Dabi would have incinerated Endevor and perhaps Shoto.
  • Poor Communication Kills: Toga tries to tell Uraraka that she tried to resist her bloodlust for years, but it gave her nothing but stress. Uraraka tells Toga that her struggles are no excuse for attacking or killing others. Unfortunately, them fighting in such closed space does not allow for proper negotiation.
  • Then Let Me Be Evil: It is more than implied Toga has decided to do this after hearing Uraraka's response above. Sadly, she feels like this isn't the answer she wanted, but it's enough to tell her that she should no longer be concerned what other people think of her, leading to her attempt to kill Uraraka before Asui intervened.
  • Thought You Were Dead:
    • Endeavor had always thought Toya died by his own Quirk long time ago, leaving only a charred jawbone. He insists that Dabi is lying, but the thought that he is alive all this time leaves him in a catatonic state.
    • Dabi is surprised that Best Jeanist has arrived to stop him from killing Endeavor, especially when Hawks showed him his "corpse" months ago.
  • Unreliable Narrator: One of Endeavor's fans, Hiroshi Tameda (aka "Can't You See-Kun"), is in complete denial while watching Dabi's broadcast and states no one will believe a lying villain, but his friend believes otherwise. The reason? It is because Dabi spoke out first and has the materials to back it up. As such, whether it is truth or not, the public is likely to start thinking about their faith in Endeavor, and perhaps heroes in general, after this until the Pro responds.
  • Villain: Exit, Stage Left: Toga escapes after her fight with Uravity and Froppy.
  • Villainous RRoD: Shigaraki is barely able to move, with "All For One" controlling him with a Rivet Quirk to keep him mobile until Gigantamachia arrives.
  • Wham Episode: Gigantamachia and most of the League, as well as the PLF's Mr. Skeptic finally makes it to Jaku City to aid Shigaraki. However, it's Dabi who takes center stage for the latter half of the episode to reveal his ties to Shoto and Enji Todoroki.
  • Wham Line:
    • Dabi responds to Endeavor calling his name in a way he or Shoto, or anyone for that matter, didn't see coming.
Dabi: Hey, now, don't be rude. You act like we've never met... Call me Toya. After all, it's the name you and mom gave me.
      • At the same time, he has Mr. Skeptic hijack the airwaves, so everyone in Japan watches his video. He then introduces himself as such:
Dabi: My name... Is Toya Todoroki. The No. 1 Hero... is my father.
    • Dabi claims that Hawks killed Best Jeanist to infiltrate the Paranormal Liberation Front and reveals this in his broadcast as well. However, right when he prepares to finish off Endeavor...
Best Jeanist: Sorry I'm late. As of this moment, Best Jeanist is back!
  • Wham Shot:
    • Dabi fashions a bottle containing either bleach or special hair dye remover. With this, along with the Wham Line above, the black dye color is gone, revealing natural white hair which resembles the Todoroki mother's side of the family.
      • Speaking of mother, Rei Todoroki is among the many who ends up watching the hijacked broadcast, now watching the Villain claiming to be her long-lost son. This is right as she is recovering from the years-long trauma from her husband.

Thank you for living long enough to see this day! ENDEAVOR!!!
~Dabi
