Recap / My Gym Partners A Monkey S 4 E 22 A Whole Zoo World

Go To

It’s the end of the school year. Worried about his future, Adam trains to be a zookeeper over the summer.

  • Brutal Honesty: Principal Pixiefrog gives this to Adam, when sending him off on his last day of school. Here, he points out that the clerical error that got him sent to Charles Darwin Middle School is not likely to be corrected and details Adam's depressing and limited life ahead, and how his record of being in an animal school, will inevitably lead him in a dead-end job, as a substandard human being. Luckily, Adam proved him wrong in the end.
  • Back for the Finale: Jackie from "Cheer Pressure" returns in this episode. There was no reason for her to do so, in particular. Her whole scene could have been removed and it literally would have no effect on the episode. Though her scene did serve to show Adam was perfectly capable at being a zookeeper by defusing the situation
  • Clown Car: A tiny clown car, with a gigantic, burly clown comes by to pick Adam up and take him Captain Clowny Camp.
  • Continuity Nod: In "I Got a New Aptitude", Adam and Jake's career aptitude tests, said they were both destined to work as zoo animals. These answers were later revealed to be fixed, but this episode shows that it didn't matter either way, as Adam and Jake both officially become zoo animals.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: The series concludes with Adam finding his true calling as a zookeeper, becoming an honorary zoo animal, and ultimately realizes that it doesn’t matter what kind of education he has, because as long as he believes in himself and puts his mind to it, he can be anything he wants to be.
  • End-of-Series Awareness: As the last episode of the show, the story starts on the last day of school, and goes on to wrap up everybody's story arcs.
  • Grand Finale: This is the final episode of My Gym Partner's a Monkey.
  • Great Escape: The animals of The Zoo Aquarium, make numerous escape plots to leave the zoo, while Adam is on guard.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: Adam fell out of the sky, screaming "PREZENKOWSKIIIIII!"
  • Missing Episode: Despite being the finale, it’s not available on the Boomerang app.
  • Naked People Are Funny: To celebrate school ending, Adam tears off his clothes, and dances around in his underwear.
  • Never Say "Die": Adam falls from 100 feet and crashes into cement, but manages to survive without a scratch. Jake lampshades the fact that Adam didn't die a bloody death.
Jake: Adam, are you still alive? Remember, this is a kid's show.
  • No Escape but Down: Adam chases Jake to the end of a sewer canal, ending with a waterfall, that leads straight down to paradise island.
  • Prison Escape Artist: Jake, especially, but all the animals find their way out of the Zoo Aquarium, throughout this episode.
  • Scooby-Dooby Doors: Adam and Jake have a chase sequence like this, through all the sewer tunnels.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Garson, the owner of The Zoo Aquarium, could not have quit his job more enthusiastically, when he hears about Adam, wanting to take his place all summer.
  • Series Fauxnale: This episode takes place on the last day of school and is definitely the finale, but the previous episode, is a Thanksgiving special, sending the timeline back 7 or 8 months, on account of out of order broadcasting.
  • Shout-Out: Adam gets shoved into a mold-maker and gets turned into Rodney from Squirrel Boy.
  • Surprise Party: The reason everyone was escaping the zoo, was because they were trying to collect party supplies for a party, welcoming Adam to the zoo.
