Title: Chris and Ian Shamelessly Promote Themselves
Release date: January 20, 2017

After Vince makes a scheduling mistake, Chris and Ian find a way to make appearances on three different shows at once to boost their popularity.

Tropes:

  • Breather Episode: This lighthearted episode comes after the emotional previous episode, "The Lost Undead".
  • Continuity Nod:
    • Zach tells Chris and Ian that if they don't get more media coverage, they might be forgotten, like the guys who broke the record for the world's largest head tower. Chris and Ian tell him and Vince that they broke the record themselves and that there's an article about it hanging on their wall.
    • Chris Salaises brings up the time he made The Armless Guy fall from a plane in an alternate timeline with no ramifications.
  • Curse Cut Short: When Zach (disguised as Ian) tells Conan that he left office as mayor because everyone made fun of his trumpet playing:
Zach: They said my music was so bad that, and I'm quoting here, that I should take my brass instrument and shove it up my...well, I won't finish, but I'll just say it rhymed.
  • Deadly Game: Subverted with @midflight. It's supposedly a game show set on an airplane where the losing contestants are dropped into shark-infested waters, but it turns out it's filmed in a soundstage and the losing contestants hang out backstage.
  • Dreadful Musician: When Conan gives Zach (disguised as Ian) an opportunity to play the trumpet, he proves to be very bad at it.
  • Hypocrisy Nod: Although Chris Salaises is shocked that Chris Hardware seemingly dropped The Armless Guy from a plane, he acknowledges that he did the same thing to him in an alternate timeline that no longer exists.
  • One-Steve Limit: Averted with Chris Salaises and Chris Hardware.
  • Photo Montage: A montage of photos of Vince and Zach hanging out with Matthew McConaughey plays over the credits.
  • Shout-Out: @midflight is a reference to the game show @Midnight.
  • Stealth Hi/Bye: Ian leaves the set of Every Day with Anarchy in the middle of Jack's inspirational speech.
  • Stock Scream: Demetri Spartan lets out a Wilhelm scream when he's seemingly ejected from the plane.
  • What Would X Do?: Zach wonders what Ian would do when asked to play the trumpet.
