Recap / Milo Murphy's Law S2E18 "Freefall"

Go To

Milo, Zack, and Melissa go freefalling in a controlled skydiving tube, but when Milo Murphy's Law causes the system to malfunction, the trio gets launched miles into the air, turning their skydiving simulation into the real deal.

  • Actually Pretty Funny: Colonel Niblet overhears Lieutenant Tennant mimicking him behind his back but instead of getting mad, he admits that the impression was respectably on point.
  • Barely Missed Cushion: Played with. While Milo, Zack, and Melissa plummeted to Earth, they started safely approaching a pillow factory. Melissa has to remind Milo "Pillow factories are only soft on the inside."
  • Brick Joke: Melissa teaches Zack about conquering his fears, by using immersion therapy. However, she gives a bad example on the concept, saying that someone can conquer their fear of scorpions by sticking their head into a jar full of scorpions. Near the end of the episode, after they get safely down to the ground, Melissa tells Milo to "Break out that jar full of scorpions."
  • Call-Back:
    • Dakota sings a new variation of "We're Going to the Zoo", by plugging in the phrases "We're flying in the sky." and "And then we're gunna see some alien trash!"
    • Cavendish and Dakota go crashing through the Taxidermy Warehouse from "Milo Murphy's Halloween Scream-A-Torium".
    • Afterwards, a taxidermy bear is slammed against the plane's windshield, alluding to The Cyborg Grizzly getting slammed against the helicopter's windshield in "Now I Am a Murphy".
  • Hollywood Skydiving: This episode probably broke about a hundred laws of physics, where the characters would have certainly been injured or killed if this happened to real people.
  • Human Cannonball: Diogee shoots himself out of a cannon (even though he's not supposed to) in order to launch himself up to Milo, Melissa, and Zack so he can pop the balloons holding them aloft and get them down safely.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: The expiration date for all of the material objects in this episode is "October 3rd", which was the airdate of the show in real life.
  • Noodle Incident: Melissa mentions a moment where age restrictions on extreme sports, ruined her fun.
Milo: Melissa, you were only 7 years old. There's no way they were going to let you into that shark tank.
  • Running Gag: Objects having expiration dates, reading "Best Used Before October 3rd", which leads to them getting instantly destroyed upon being noticed.
