Recap / Middlemost Post S 1 E 7 Darker Parker Ladyofthe Tree

Go To

Darker Parker: Parker makes snowcones for everybody in town and learns that saying 'no' isn't always a bad thing.

"Darker Parker" provides examples of:

  • Big "NO!": Mayor Peeve yells this after Ryan said he only wanted a wall to block people from playing in the shade and not a door to get out. Later in the episode, Parker lets this out as it's the only way to turn back to his normal self.
  • Emo: Parker starts acting like a goth after using too much of his colors for snowcones.
  • Extreme Doormat: Saying no is the only way for Parker to go back to normal.
  • Iris Out
  • Heat Wave: The episode is set during the middle of a hot day. Mayor Peeve tries to take advantage of this by bragging about having the only shade on the mountain, but his day gets ruined by residents invading his building.
  • No Power, No Color: Once Parker uses all of his rainbows to make everyone snowcone, he gets so pale that he ends up acting like a goth.
  • Shout-Out: The doctor's place has an aquarium that has a pineapple, akin to the house of SpongeBob SquarePants. A reference like this was bound to happen considering series creator John Trabbic and a few other crew members previously worked on the show.
  • Your Mom: "Your mom's under the weather!"

The Lady of the Tree: Parker and Angus make a delivery to a spooky old woman in the Middlemost Forest.

"The Lady of the Tree" provides examples of:

  • Bait-and-Switch: What looks like Parker coming to the Lady of the Tree to attack her with his lightning powers only for him to get trapped inside a crystal ball.
  • Doom It Yourself: Angus with the rocking chair. It looked exactly like it was supposed to on the instruction the first time (to disastrous results), but when he ends up using his own wrench, it looked nothing like a rocking chair and more like a torture device.
  • Everybody Cries: Towards the end of the episode, the MMP gang cried under despair and the Lady of the Tree cried under sadness.
  • Eyedscreen: Shows up when Angus says "Let's build."
  • Medium Blending: The Lady of the Tree's ex lover is actually a real life person.
  • Wicked Witch: The Lady of the Tree, from what it looks like at first, but she's actually a good witch.
