"Amore Motore" is the 1st episode of Season 5 of the new Mickey Mouse (2013) series created by Paul Rudish for the Disney Channel and Disney.com. It's the 79th in the series.

Mickey sees a bike rushing through the streets of Rome. Now he must help his little scooter win her over.


Tropes:

  • Bilingual Bonus: All the dialogue is spoken in Italian.
  • Cannot Talk to Women: Mickey's scooter is too shy to talk to the girl scooter, so Mickey has to give him encouragement.
  • A Day in the Limelight: The short's main focus is on Mickey's scooter, who was first seen in "Croissant de Triomphe."
  • Disaster Dominoes: The column Mickey's scooter bangs his head against topples over and knocks down a series of columns, the last one rolling down the hill towards the girl scooter.
  • Eiffel Tower Effect: The short opens with a shot of the Colosseum. It ends with the characters at the Trevi Fountain.
  • The Faceless: The rider of the girl scooter has her face hidden by her helmet. In the end she takes it off and is revealed to be Minnie.
  • Head Desk: Mickey's scooter bangs itself against a column after blowing his date with the girl scooter.
  • Luminescent Blush: Mickey's scooter does this when he sees the girl bike for the first time. Mickey himself does it at the end when he meets Minnie.
  • Production Throwback: The magazine the girl scooter is reading has pictures of Johnny Fedora and Alice Blue Bonnet on the covers.
  • Sentient Vehicle: Mickey's scooter, as well as the girl scooter he falls in love with.
  • Wingding Eyes: Mickey's scooter gets hearts in his eyes when thinking about his crush.
  • "YEAH!" Shot: The ending shot, with Mickey and his scooter jumping in the air.
