Summary:

Mabushina and the others find out that Mabayuine is alive from Zabyun. Unfortunately, they have to cover up the conflict with Yodonheim from Mabayuine when she wakes up so that she doesn't freak out and shatter.

Tropes:

• All Part of the Show: Mabayine is told the current conflict is an Adaptation Deviation of a traditional Crystallian play.
• Chekhov's Gun: We're shown in the beginning that Mabayuine can be used as an amplifier for Kiramental. Takamichi then uses her crown later on to laser through Safe Jamen's safe.
• Lost in Character: Shiguru playing the geeky character within the play results in him donning a headband and hamming it up. He continues this after the ruse is revealed.
• Pop-Culture Pun Episode Title: The episode title is one to the 1962 film In Search of Mother (瞼の母/Mabuta no Haha).
• Soul Jar: It is revealed that Mabayuine's headdress is one, the queen having transferred her soul into it before Numajo's curse took effect.
• Special Edition Title: Inverted. Instead of the usual ED, we instead get Mabushina singing her character song Crystal Signal, as the first of the "Kiramai Music Festival".
• Whole-Plot Reference: We have a mother who awakens from a long sleep induced by a near-death experience, with her child trying to hide the fact that the home she used to know no longer exists from her, for fear that the ensuing shock will kill her. Now where have we heard that story before?
