Memories That Reveal the Truth

Episode 1: Invitation to a Lecture

Mifuyu explains the motives of Yachiyo and the other Magical Girls for fighting the Wings of the Magius to Alina. Alina acknowledges that if they were only fighting out of suspicion, then it made sense why "she" wanted to give them a lecture. Alina asks that Mifuyu find a way to deal with Yachiyo since she was their only enemy who knew the truth and still fought them. Mifuyu replies that Yachiyo will not be a threat if she's alone.

Iroha and Yachiyo go over what they should do to prepare for the Wings of the Magius, such as stocking up on Grief Seeds, what they would do if Alina fights them again, and whether it was possible to destroy the organization from within its ranks. Iroha and Sana decide to go cook dinner when they hear Tsuruno and Felicia arguing about vegetables that they were supposed to bring from Banbanzai, which Felicia had left in a Witch's Labyrinth to fight it. Sana asks that they think about the neighbors as they yell at each other. Tsuruno initially decides not to help Felicia study, but decides to anyway since Iroha had trouble teaching her. Sana speaks with Iroha about the idea of buying coasters that matched their mugs for Yachiyo. Iroha has Sana propose the idea to Felicia and Tsuruno, who agree to help out.

Iroha contacts Madoka, who agrees that getting matching coasters is a great idea. Iroha asks if Mami had come back to Mitakihara since she hadn't sensed her magic yet, but Madoka replies that she hasn't seen Mami yet. Iroha assures her that if Madoka needed help looking for her Iroha will join in. The next day, Iroha, Tsuruno, Felicia, and Sana go and buy the coasters that match their mugs best. They agreed to rush into the house together to surprise her, but when Iroha jumps in she's stunned to find Mifuyu instead of Yachiyo. Iroha offers to pour her some tea, but Mifuyu counters that she knew her way around the house. Mifuyu grabs one of two mugs that she claims belonged to her. Iroha is concerned that Yachiyo told Iroha not to touch those mugs and wonders who the other mug belonged to.

Mifuyu soon asks if Iroha would ever consider joining the Wings of the Magius if it meant being able to find her sister without getting into pointless fights. Iroha insists that she could never work with people who would protect Witches and Uwasa or use others for their cause. Mifuyu then asks if Iroha would like to join a lecture about what it meant to free Magical Girls. Iroha agrees that she would attend this lecture if it meant knowing the whole story, on the condition that no Black or White Feathers would be around. Mifuyu agrees to this, asking to meet her two days later at noon at the "Memory Museum." A Rumor was being housed here so Mifuyu thought it would be convenient for Iroha to show the Magius her competence by finding it herself.

Yachiyo comes back and is immediately concerned about Mifuyu being there. She demands that Mifuyu get out of her house when she asks for Yachiyo to join the Wings. Tsuruno, Sana, and Felicia then show up due to Iroha not texting about when Yachiyo would be back and are also surprised to find Mifuyu. She agrees to leave but not before asking Yachiyo one last thing. They go outside where Mifuyu reminds Yachiyo about the promise she made last year. She says that seeing that the others now had their own matching mugs made her realize that Yachiyo had gone back to being the way she was before despite knowing what happened if she made friends. Yachiyo coldly repeats for Mifuyu to go home.

Yachiyo comes back visibly pale and goes up to her room to rest. Sana decides that now wasn't the best time to show her the coasters. Although Yachiyo told Iroha that Mifuyu only asked her to join the Wings of the Magius, Iroha couldn't help but feel that she said something else to Yachiyo. That night, Yachiyo has a cup of water while thinking about two voices that she knew very well.

Episode 2: The Meeting Place is the Memory Museum

After letting Madoka know that she would be going to the lecture, Iroha discusses with the other Magical Girls where the Memory Museum could be. But after telling Iroha that it wasn't in the Kamihama Rumor Files, Yachiyo leaves earlier than usual to attend college and asks that they have dinner without her since she'll be having a photo shoot. Everyone could tell that something was off about her, but Tsuruno says that if Yachiyo needed help she would have told them. Iroha asks if Tsuruno would need help, and she hesitates before saying she doesn't. Sana is the most reluctant to hear out the Wings of the Magius but agrees to protect Iroha should the lecture go awry.

Iroha and Tsuruno speak about the lecture with Momoko, who agrees that this was the right thing for Mifuyu to do. However, she is startled when Iroha clarified that Yachiyo was being moody ever since Mifuyu came to her house. Momoko openly ponders about what Yachiyo was hiding, with Rena and Kaede agreeing as a reference to her promise that she'll tell them her Dark Secret. Momoko abruptly suggests she goes with Iroha to the Coordinator and ask if she knew about a Memory Museum while Momoko helped her clear out some Familiars infesting her store, leaving Rena and Kaede annoyed about her avoiding the topic.

Iroha goes to see Mitama and asks her about the Memory Museum, but she responds that selling information behind her clients' backs goes against her beliefs. Just then, Kaede calls Iroha to tell her that she and Rena saw a Familiar-like creature wandering around an arcade at Sakae Ward. Iroha understands what this meant and leaves to go looking for it. Momoko is left with Mitama who, having previously read her thoughts during adjustments, suggests that she go back to Rena and Kaede to tell them the truth about Witches before they end up finding out themselves. Momoko reluctantly agrees and leaves as well.

Iroha meets up with Rena and Kaede at the arcade where they find the Uwasa spreading its Rumor. It spoke of the Memory Museum being a place where memories could be edited, erased, or observed for research purposes while warning that looking at someone else's memories could cause an influence. Rena is concerned that Iroha still wanted to go to the lecture there, while Kaede wonders if she should go with Iroha. Rena reminds her that Momoko wanted to talk with them about something tomorrow, so they can't come with Iroha. Iroha thanks them for their concern and leaves.

Iroha discusses the Rumor with Sana at Banbanzai while Tsuruno and Felicia are working. Felicia suggests going through every museum in Kamihama, while Tsuruno points out that they could narrow the list down based on what is displayed at the museum that the Memory Museum is based on. Tsuruno's father overhears them and assumes they were talking about the Kamihama Memorial Museum where he worked in a part-time job and occasionally watched films. Although it was closed down long ago, Iroha believes the wording of the Rumor's name can't be a coincidence. Thus, the four of them agree to go there tommorow after talking about it with Yachiyo.

When they get back, Yachiyo bluntly tells them that going to the Memory Museum seemed too much like a trap so if they wanted go to there so badly, they should go without her. She goes back to her room, leaving the others worried about what she knew. However, Iroha and Tsuruno are encouraged by the idea of cheering her up from whatever was bothering her so they continue on. When they arrive it initially felt empty, but sense an Uwasa's magic. Suddenly they also sense the magic of a Magical Girl they hadn't seen before. They guess that it was one of the Magius giving the lecture when someone yells out that they're correct. Iroha is horrified when she turns to see who spoke out to her.

Sitting in a fancy red chair was Ui's dear friend, Touka Satomi, introducing herself as a Magius.

Yachiyo thinks back to the mugs she bought, realizing it was dirty for Mifuyu to dredge up the past, and quietly apologizes to Iroha about what she was about to see.

Episode 3: The Magius' Lecture

Iroha asks whether Touka could remember her or Ui, but Touka claims that she only recognized Nemu and that there were no traces of Iroha in her hippocampus or cerebral neocortex. Iroha asks about Nemu, and Touka claims that they went their separate ways after being discharged. She sincerely asks that Iroha put aside her memories and think of her as Touka Satomi, the Magius, before making a large table appear and asking that they sit down for tea and cake before the lecture began. Meanwhile Yachiyo ponders about whether it was ok for the Magical Girls to be given the truth without her, even if they weren't friends.

With the girls feeling more calm, and Iroha willing to focus on the lecture, which Touka says is about "The Truth Behind Magical Girls," which everyone in the Wings of the Magius already knew about. She starts with a story concerning Soul Gems: Magical Girls labeled A, B, and C were hunting a Witch that was initially too dangerous for them. Just as their deaths seemed imminent, C got up to face the Witch alone revealing a weak spot that A took advantage of. Although C seemed unscathed, she still died. Touka asks how this happened, and Iroha realizes the lecture was meant to be a quiz. After Felicia and Iroha guess that C was poisoned or couldn't breathe, Tsuruno guesses that it was her Soul Gem. Touka congratulates her for getting this correct, pointing out that C's Soul Gem was broken in the fight, which proved to A and B that Soul Gems contained the life force of Magical Girls.

Sana is unsure about how this is possible, so Touka asks her to pull out her own Soul Gem. Touka taps it with a small amount of magic, which causes Sana to curl up in pain. Sana quietly suggests that using magic meant wielding one's own life, which makes Iroha recall what she felt when she was running out of magic at Séance Shrine. Having a Soul Gem meant pulling out one's internal battery and using it externally, making Grief Seeds more like charging devices that revert Soul Gems to their original power. Sana is concerned by how inhuman this made her, but Touka counters that normal people modify their bodies all the time and still call themselves human, so an invisible girl like her shouldn't overthink it. Iroha brings up what she felt and believes that Yachiyo really was worried that she could die. Touka says that she'll explain another reason for that worry later in the lecture.

Yachiyo goes to see Rena and Kaede to ask about the Memory Museum before running into Momoko, who explains to her that she's going to tell the other two what they saw.

For the next part of the lecture, Touka tells a story about Witches: Magical Girls A and B move on from their first revelation and form a team with Magical Girls D, E, and F. One day a powerful witch that endured many battles moved into their territory, but D was not able to join the fight. F sacrificed herself to protect A, and the Witch escaped. F was in bad shape but they had no Grief Seeds. When F's Soul Gem turned jet black, she stopped moving. Tsuruno quickly interrupts the lecture to ask about D, but Touka shuts her out, saying she will answer any questions at the end of the lecture. Touka then asks what F turned into, which confuses Felicia. Touka tries to connect the two facts that Soul Gems gather impurities while Witches spread curses, but while the other girls start to realize what she's saying, Felicia doesn't respond. Touka then spells out the truth to her: F's Soul Gem grew dark and turned into a Grief Seed from which a Witch is born. This fact hits Felicia hard, because it not only meant that a former Magical Girl killed her parents, but that she had been hunting down other Magical Girls. Iroha admits that it's also hard for her to believe this, or rather it's hard to want to believe it.

Yachiyo pieces together what Mifuyu is planning, and realizes that the Rumor's power to influence people with memories is being used as a backup plan in case the Magical Girls can't accept the truth.

Touka notices how upset Felicia is and gives her a Grief Seed to remove impurities from her Soul Gem. She uses this to point out that nothing else is able to purify a Soul Gem, because they're effectively the same. She then suggests that if killing Witches made them feel bad, they should think of them as zombies that needed to be put down before worsen their sins. Iroha then realizes that despite her Soul Gem turning black she never turned into a Witch at Séance Shrine, which brings Touka to her last topic of the lecture.

Yachiyo rushes toward Sakae Ward, all while reminding herself that she's just rescuing Magical Girls from self-inflicted harm, and that they're aren't her friends.

Touka tells a third story about Doppels: Half a year after she saw F turn into a Witch, B was still in shock and couldn't accept what had happened. After another half a year, Witches started to gather in Kamihama and Kyubey vanished. When B's Soul Gem eventually went pitch black, she thought she would turn into a Witch herself. But as Iroha guessed, her Doppel came out instead. It was then that Touka herself appeared before B with the offer: " Come with us and free Magical Girls."

Now that the lecture has ended, Touka asks if they're willing to join the Wings of the Magius. Iroha and Sana firmly decide they can't trust them, while Felicia wonders if there won't be any Witches if the Magius succeed. Tsuruno calls her out for this, saying that Touka had to be making something up along with the truth. Iroha agrees saying that she remembers Touka as the kind of girl who could fit anything into facts. Touka points out that if they cannot believe these tales, then they shall see it for themselves through the Memory Museum. Mifuyu appears to help with "practical learning," and the girls realize that they were going to use the Rumor to brainwash them. Touka quickly grabs the bell used to bring them to the exhibition space, and Mifuyu holds out a book that she says contains one of her memories. They beg her to stop, but she opens it before them.

Yachiyo reaches the museum where she finds Touka. The Magius agrees to show her where the bell is, which she accepts even if she knew it was a trap. Touka remarks to herself that they now have girls A, B, and D, but wonders where E was. Meanwhile, Momoko takes Rena and Kaede away from the café they go to, preparing to tell them something scary.

Episode 4: Learning Vicariously

Yachiyo meets Mifuyu where the others had fallen asleep, and Mifuyu promptly shows her the book as well. Outside, Kaede and Rena grow concerned by how serious Momoko seemed about what she would tell them. She explains that there were things about Magical Girls that neither of them knew about. The first was something she heard from a trustworthy source, and the second was something she saw herself. Rena and Kaede admit that they thought she was going to tell them about her love life, but Momoko insists she would never take it seriously if that's what this would be about.

Iroha is woken up by Mifuyu in her room. She tells Iroha that she overslept and everyone was waiting for her. There, Mifuyu, Yachiyo, and a stern looking girl named Kanae discuss how to go about hunting a nearby Witch. They agree to have Kanae search for it alone while the rest search as a group. Eventually, they meet up again and start to talk about how much of a better mood Kanae has been in ever since she bought a guitar and took part in a concert. Just then, they notice the Witch's Labyrinth and decide to enter. There the Witch proved to be too strong, and the Familiars began to block their escape path. Kanae decides to buy them time by attacking the Witch directly. She thanks Yachiyo and Mifuyu for taking her in and giving her a great future, then whispers something to the former. The former is upset about whatever she said, but Kanae thanks her anyway.

Although they were able to defeat the Witch, Kanae remained still on the ground. Yachiyo is distraught from Kanae throwing her dream away for her sake, and Mifuyu points out Kanae's Soul Gem, now shattered from when she charged at the Witch. Iroha attempts to repair it with a Grief Seed, but it proves to be futile. With no wounds on Kanae's body, they conclude that her Soul Gem contained her very life. They go home upset over Kanae's death, but reluctantly accept their newly gained knowledge. An ownerless mug is set aside by Yachiyo.

Later on, Momoko, Tsuruno, and another girl, Mel, start coming to Mikazuki more often. Mel brings up a tarot reading she did telling her she'll have great luck that day, but Yachiyo scolds her for trying to tell fortunes that always come true. They later discuss a Witch that migrated from Daito Ward, and past Kosho, Chuo, and Mizuna, before coming to Shinsei. They plan to stop it from escaping the city altogether now that other Magical Girls in those wards have told them about it. Unfortunately, Tsuruno realizes she needed to get back to work at Banbanzai, so they agree to let her go. The Witch proves to be as strong as they've heard, but Yachiyo decides to distract it for them. Just as Mifuyu, Momoko, and Iroha are about to attack it, the Witch attempts to strike Yachiyo, only for Mel to get between them.

The Witch escapes but Mel lays on the ground, her Soul Gem turning dark. They desperately consider searching for another Witch to find a Grief Seed, but Mel grips onto Yachiyo, telling her its too late to save her. She tries to tell her something but begins to scream in pain as a Witch erupts from her Soul Gem. They get back home, where Momoko yells about how they made their wishes to become murderers. Yachiyo immediately slaps her, telling her that Mel wanted only to live her life to the fullest. She decides to take responsibility by hunting down Mel's Witch herself. The three of them agree to kill each other if they ever come close to becoming Witches. Mel's mug is also set aside by Yachiyo.

A year later, Iroha walks with Mifuyu and attempts to comfort their current state as Magical Girls. Mifuyu laments how she could never be a normal girl even if that's what she made her wish for. Iroha insists that she's really strong, but Mifuyu insists that her magic has been getting weaker the longer she has survived despite the fact that Yachiyo had remained strong for just as long. She curses herself for holding onto such an envious and petty grudge as Iroha refuses to kill her. But instead of turning into a Witch, Mifuyu ended up releasing her Doppel, leaving her in disbelief. Just then, Touka appears before her and told her that she made the Doppel come out to prevent her from reaching the same fate as her friend. She notes that Mifuyu is a veteran and asks that she help her to free Magical Girls. She turns to Iroha and asks that she join her too.

Everything stops around Iroha, and Mifuyu tells her that she had just experienced were her memories as she experienced them. Iroha notes that if Mifuyu still used her mug from when she was Yachiyo's friend, then the other mug must have been Momoko's. Touka offers to help Iroha learn about Nemu and Ui whilst under enough protection to be able to grow up and be adults. Tsuruno quietly remarks that she was the Magical Girl labeled D from Touka's story, and that she never stopped thinking that Mel would have survived if she hadn't gone back to her restaurant. Mifuyu admits that nobody had the courage to tell her what really happened to Mel. Touka then convinces her that even if she failed to protect Mel, she can continue to achieve both big and small goals as a Feather. Felicia yells in grief, now knowing for certain that the Witches she killed made her no different from them. Touka offers to have her atone for her sins by joining the Wings of the Magius. Meanwhile, Mifuyu notes how calm Sana was about her fate, but Sana admits that it really is scary to think about. However, she didn't think being a Witch mattered when she already stopped being part of the world. Thus, Touka suggests that if it was possible to prevent Witches from being born, then it should be possible to reverse Sana's wish and make her visible again. Iroha firmly refuses to join the Wings of the Magius for using Witches. She claims that she has faith in her memories, and if Yachiyo was able to reject the Magius while knowing the truth, then she should too.

Iroha wakes up and remembers what happened before Mifuyu opened the book containing her memories. She finds Yachiyo asleep before realizing everyone else had left the room. Momoko finishes telling her story to Rena and Kaede, who are now sobbing from what they've been told.

Episode 5: Yachiyo's Declaration

Momoko asks if Rena was done crying, but Rena admits that her tears won't stop. Momoko says she would like anyone she trusts to kill her before she ever becomes a Witch, but Kaede cries even more at this thought, not wanting a life without either of her friends. Rena then asks Momoko how the incident with Mel led to Yachiyo disbanding the rest of her team.

Mifuyu asks Yachiyo again whether she could join the Wings of the Magius, but Yachiyo makes it clear that her problem was with the Magius, including Touka. Specifically, the Magius remind her too much of Kyubey, whom she finds too untrustworthy due to his ability to exploit people's weaknesses for his own benefit. Touka finds it a shame that Yachiyo would never trust her.

Momoko explains that at first everyone tried to remain a team, but Mifuyu started to act in an unusual manner while Yachiyo would never smile after Mel became a Witch. When Yachiyo began interfering with Witch hunts by other Magical Girls, Momoko hadn't realized that she was only trying to push people like Iroha away from danger. But that wasn't the reason why she avoided Yachiyo altogether.

Yachiyo wakes up and finds Iroha asking for them to get out of the Memory Museum. She asks if Iroha was with the Wings of the Magius, but she says she turned them down in the dream where she saw Mifuyu's memories. She thanks Yachiyo for coming to try and help them, but Yachiyo denies this, claiming she came to reassess her beliefs. She then tells Iroha: "I'm breaking up the team," which is what Momoko claims she eventually said to her and Tsuruno one day, despite Momoko sticking with her up until then.

Iroha isn't certain about what she meant by "breaking up the team," but assumes that she's just putting on an act since they were both able to reject Mifuyu's memories. She tries to pretend to accept Yachiyo's declaration, but thinks to herself that it'd be her fault if the others were brainwashed. Just then, the Uwasa show up to attack them which catches Iroha by surprise.

Momoko recalls asking Yachiyo why she would disband their team, but she refused to explain, but Momoko didn't get enough time to get her to due to Kyubey vanishing from Kamihama and Witches infesting the city. Eventually, she stopped trying to chase after Yachiyo to take care of Rena and Kaede, certain that newer Magical Girls like them would easily be killed in Kamihama. Momoko isn't sure how Iroha began to bring back Yachiyo's old self, but she is certain Iroha's the only one who could get her to explain why she works alone.

After knocking away the Uwasa, Yachiyo asks Iroha to stop telling her not to fight alone. She then stops because Touka had appeared in front of them, now in her Magical Girl outfit. She, Mifuyu, and Alina were all waiting for Iroha and Yachiyo to wake up. They admit that the Rumor was meant to brainwash them, and are disappointed that it didn't work. Touka showed them Tsuruno, Felicia, and Sana, who were all successfully brainwashed. Mifuyu and the two Magius decide to leave with their new recruits, as Iroha begs them not to go. After saying no to Iroha, Touka points out how different she is compared to what Iroha remembered and suggests that it was Iroha's memories that were wrong. She then says goodbye and leaves.

Alina laughs at Iroha for thinking she could get her friends back so easily, and pulls a Witch out of her Labyrinth. She notes that sacrificing one of her masterpieces should weaken them enough to keep them trapped in the Rumor while she and the others escape due to not reading any books there. Yachiyo decides to take on the Witch alone, and tells Iroha not to interfere. She destroys the Witch, but Iroha could tell how much of a toll it took on her. She asks Yachiyo to stop pretending since the Uwasa was still attacking them. She tells Iroha that she wasn't pretending at all, and was not interested in helping Iroha.

Episode 6: Iroha's Declaration

As it began to get dark out, Momoko suggests that they go home instead of hunting any Witches. She decides to go back and confront Yachiyo about her issues again, even if it turns out Iroha did so already. While Rena had calmed down enough to go home herself, Kaede took a bit longer to let go of Momoko before leaving.

Iroha continues to follow Yachiyo, demanding to know why she would abandon her friends to the Wings of the Magius. Just as they reach the room's exit, the Memory Museum's main Uwasa appears to block them. Yachiyo decides to fight the Uwasa alone as she did with the Witch Alina summoned, confusing Iroha even further. Before the Uwasa could attack Yachiyo, Iroha knocks it back with an attack. Seeing that it couldn't move away from the exit, she takes the opportunity to pull Yachiyo back to focus on questioning her. She tells Yachiyo that while she was more angry than saddened by her behavior, and wasn't going to accept them splitting up until she explained herself. Yachiyo begins to mumble about how she would end up killing Iroha, and when Iroha denies this, she decides to clarify herself.

When Kanae and Mel died, their respective last words were about how vital she was and how much they looked up to her as their leader. Thus Yachiyo had decided that it was because her wish to "survive" working as the leader of a model group gave her the innate magic of sacrificing other Magical Girls to continue living. She begs Iroha to let her disband the team before she causes any more misery for everyone, but Iroha refuses this. She declares that she was going to take on the Uwasa herself and prove that Yachiyo's delusional idea about her magic were not going to kill Iroha.

Despite the Uwasa's toughness, Iroha manages to defeat it and asks Yachiyo to give herself another chance to believe that she never caused anyone's deaths. Yachiyo begins to hesitate, so Iroha asks to be the leader so there would be no reason for her to sacrifice herself to protect Yachiyo. She apologizes to Iroha and they leave the Rumor's Labyrinth. They decide that they need to heal before they can go anywhere, and Iroha notes being able to faintly sense Alina's magic. Just then, they sense another Magical Girl's magic coming closer to them. They realize it was Mami Tomoe, and they ask what she was doing there. Iroha brings up Madoka and Homura's concerns about her, but she didn't seemed to care. Yachiyo calls for Iroha to get down before Mami transforms into her Magical Girl costume before transforming again into a more regal attire. Mami says that she has also joined the Wings of the Magius, and was going to eliminate them as advised by Touka. Iroha and Yachiyo endure her attacks until she asks that they join the Wings of the Magius. Yachiyo refuses, so Mami decides to summon her Doppel whom she called Florence.

As Iroha realizes how close they were to failing, a Magical Girl in a blue outfit yells for Mami to stop. She begins to scold her for beating up weakened Magical Girls, while asking why her costume was so different. Mami asks her friend Sayaka to stay out of her way, but she refuses. After trying to hold her off for some time, Sayaka decides that she can't get the chance to reason with Mami. She throws one of Homura's pipe bombs at Mami, and asks the other two to use the smoke as cover to escape. As the building collapses around them, they realize that police are going to show up, so Mami can't continue to fire her guns at them.

They escape to a nearby park and stop there, while their rescuer gives them a Grief Seed to use. She introduces herself as Sayaka Miki, a friend of Madoka and Homura. She asks Iroha and Yachiyo to explain what had been going on, and they explain how Mami joined the Wings of the Magius to stop Magical Girls from becoming Witches. They apologize for telling her this at a bad time, but Sayaka accepts it, saying she would have learned this eventually. Nonetheless, she decides to go home and sort out what she learned before telling her friends. Iroha and Yachiyo also go home to come up with their next plan.

Episode 7: Not Just the Two of Us

Iroha and Yachiyo quietly walked back to Mikazuki Villa. Iroha decides to herself that she can't keep moping about her failure and must find a way to get their team back together before bringing back Ui and Mifuyu. When they reached the house, they were confused about seeing the lights on inside. Iroha hoped that Felicia and the others changed their minds and came back, but it was just Momoko who notes that Yachiyo ought to switch the hiding spot for her spare keys. Momoko claims she has come to confront Yachiyo for disbanding her first team, and she agrees to explain herself as she did with Iroha.

When she's done with her confession, Yachiyo asks that Momoko punishes her as she sees fit, and Momoko gives her a Bear Hug. Momoko tearfully admits that she's only glad that Yachiyo never became different to start with, and Yachiyo apologizes for causing such a misunderstanding. The three of them then discuss what occurred at the Memory Museum. Momoko agrees to get them the Grief Seeds they'll need for their next fight with the Wings of the Magius. Just then, Iroha gets a text from Madoka saying she had heard everything she needed to from Sayaka and planned to come back to Kamihama. Iroha notes that she and Yachiyo aren't alone yet, and still have a chance at victory.

Tropes:

  • Breaking the Fellowship: This happens to the main cast due to Tsuruno, Felicia, and Sana defecting to the Wings of the Magius.
  • Brutal Honesty: Touka hits the Magical Girls with this trope as part of their brainwashing.
Touka: No jokes, no lies. Just the truth!
  • Join or Die: After Iroha and Yachiyo defeat the Uwasa of the Memory Curator, Mami shows up to get them to join the Wings of the Magius by force. When they refuse, she nearly kills them with her Doppel.
  • Once More, with Clarity: The stories that Touka tells are later clarified as events that Yachiyo and Mifuyu already experienced.
  • More than Mind Control: Touka and Mifuyu use the Memory Museum's power to brainwash Tsuruno, Felicia, and Sana by forcing them to experience Mifuyu's memories.
  • Wham Episode: The first of several in Arc 1. Iroha learns that Ui's friend Touka Satomi is one of the Magius, and by the end of the chapter, Felicia, Sana, Tsuruno, and Mami have all defected to the Wings of the Magius after learning where Witches came from.
  • You Are Not Alone: Although some of Iroha's friends have been brainwashed, she is able to snap Yachiyo out of her belief that Kanae's and Mel's deaths were her fault, before coming back home to be reminded that they still had allies like Momoko and Madoka.
