Go To

"Remmy" is the sixty-first episode of Lilo & Stitch: The Series. It first aired on April 14, 2006.

It's the anniversary of the death of Lilo and Nani's parents, which Lilo is understandably feeling down over. As she goes to take a nap, an experiment suddenly invades the home and goes into Lilo's dreams. Jumba explains it's an experiment meant to induce nightmares and they can't wake Lilo until they get it out lest she gets stuck with the nightmare forever. Thus Jumba, Pleakley, and Stitch enter Lilo's dream and join her to catch it.

This episode contains examples of:

  • An Aesop: When you're grieving for lost loved ones, it helps to look back on the good times, and even make new good memories with the ones who care about you.
  • Chekhov's Gun: The family photo that features Lilo's parents. Nani sends Pleakley back into Lilo's dreams with it to remind her that, while their parents are gone, they still loved her and live on through her memories of them.
  • Continuity Nod: The episode is about acknowledging the anniversary of Lilo's parents passing away.
  • Literal Metaphor: When Mrs. Hasagawa says she's not feeling well, she tells Lilo she's feeling a bit crabby before her head turns into an actual crab.
  • Monster Mash: Lilo's dreams consist of a lot of monsters, fitting of her being an Unabashed B-Movie Fan. Having two zombie friends whom Jumba, Pleakley, and Stitch meet when first entering the dream, and later after Remmy turns the dream into a nightmare, the hula girls are turned into classic movie monsters.
  • Never Say "Die": Nani calls her parents' death the "anniversary of the day we became a broken family."
  • Nightmare Weaver: Remmy is this; he can manipulate his victims' dreams to turn them into nightmares and even erase good dreams, the latter of which is shown as dissolving into bubbles. Worse is that the effects of his ability are permanent once the victim wakes up.
  • Noodle Incident: The Insomnabulaporter was something Jumba originally fashioned as a "Hydro-Nuclear Powered Pancake Flipper" as a means to help Nani around the kitchen.
Pleakley: You mean that failed spatula?
    Jumba: Well, fails as spatula.
  • Too Unhappy to Be Hungry: Lilo doesn't want to eat her peanut butter and anchovy sandwich because she is upset about her parents' death. She is even less hungry when Stitch spits out the sandwich after eating it himself.
