Go To

"Bonnie & Clyde" is the thirty-sixth episodenote  of Lilo & Stitch: The Series. It first aired on January 16, 2004.

The alien tamers get caught up in the bad habits of their latest targets after getting into trouble themselves. Are these experiment catchers biting off more than they can chew?

Experiments who were featured or mentioned in this episode:

  • Bonnie (X-149): One of the two experiments of the episode; a small green koala-like experiment with a big head who is designed to steal things. She is the brains of her duo. Her pod was mislabeled and she was accidentally referred to as X-349 (Lotuseater's number).
  • Clyde (X-150): The other experiment of the episode. A large, tan bear-like experiment with a cybernetic arm who is designed to steal things. He is the brawn of his duo. His pod was mislabeled and he was accidentally referred to as X-350 (Addly's number).
  • Reuben (X-625)

This episode contains examples of:

  • An Aesop: You lie with dogs, you get fleas. Also, crime doesn't pay, because it will hurt the people you do it to as well as yourself. Most importantly, trust is easy to break and hard to get back, so be careful not to lose your loved ones' trust in you.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Lilo and Stitch have gotten back Nani's trust. They'll have to work hard to earn everyone else's, however. What's more, instead of finding their "one true place", Bonnie and Clyde will have to stay in prison for the time being.
  • Brick Joke: When Bonnie and Clyde steal from Mrs. Hasagawa, she doesn't even notice that the experiments took her wig off her head and the hose she was using out of her hand. The next day when Lilo and Stitch returned everything stolen to her, she still hasn't noticed her wig and hose were missing as Lilo gave them back to her.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Nani punishes Lilo and Stitch just for running around the house and burping. She takes their actions very poorly, but would later admit this near the end of act 2.
  • Genre Savvy: After Bonnie and Clyde try to rob his ship the first time, Gantu figures they might do it again because thieves always return to the scene of a crime, most likely due to formerly being Captain of the Galactic Federation, he's dealt with similar experiences like this.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: After spending the whole episode doing remorseless thieving, Bonnie and Clyde are sent to prison at the end.
  • Oblivious Guilt Slinging:
    • When Lilo and Stitch return home, Nani tells them they aren't grounded anymore since nobody was really hurt by their earlier shenanigans. It doesn't help when she adds "It's not like you robbed a bank or something".
    • Pleakley does this when he goes to get Lilo and Stitch's dirty laundry, not knowing Bonnie and Clyde were hiding in it, and does the Good Cop/Bad Cop routine after watching his favorite cop TV show.
  • Toilet Paper Prank: Lilo and Stitch TP the Edmonds family's home as one of the distractions while Bonnie and Clyde steal things.
  • Unwitting Pawns: Bonnie and Clyde tempt Lilo and Stitch to get into all sorts of misbehavior so they can be a distraction to whoever they steal from.
  • Was Too Hard on Him: Towards the end of Act 2, Nani does come around that it was harsh to punish Lilo and Stitch for simply running around the house and burping. So she lifts the punishment off of them.
