The widowed father of two young teenage girls is found murdered with the elder claiming that she murdered her father out of protective rage over him raping the younger sister. However, when the sisters are released into the custody of their neighbor (who has a suspiciously close relationship with the younger sister), SVU decides to dig deeper. Meanwhile, Rollins gives birth to a baby girl and breaks up with Pollack after he proposes marriage.

Tropes

  • Everyone Can See It: Fin keeps Benson updated on the info he gets regarding Amanda's labor. At one point, he tells her they're keeping her for observation, and that both Dr. Al and Carisi are there with her. Olivia quips "What could possibly go wrong?"
  • Fake Pregnancy: While talking to Greg in a sting operation trying to get him to admit his orchestrating the murder of Mr. Moore, Britney goes off-script and lies, saying that Laura might be pregnant and that they'll have to do a paternity test to see if the baby is their father's. Greg naturally panics and admits to sleeping with Laura, which was all SVU needs to nail him. But not before Britney stabs him in the face for manipulating her into killing her own father.
  • Gaslighting: Gregory Callahan did this to Britney, making her believe her father was raping her little sister to the point she killed him.
  • Honorable Marriage Proposal: Al finally makes one, in the middle of the hospital as Amanda is about to be wheeled off. She is understandably taken by surprise. So is Carisi, who is Forced to Watch.
  • Knight Templar Big Brother: Britney, who not only kills her own father when she thinks he's the one molesting her sister, but also stabs the real offender in the face when she learns the breadth of his abuse. In public and in broad daylight.
  • Marry for Love: The reason Rollins turns down Al's proposal. He doesn't seem that broken up about it.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: This is Britney's reaction when Benson reveals to her that she was manipulated into killing her father by Greg, who was actually the one molesting her little sister.
Benson: Greg didn't care about Susan. He was after your sister. He manipulated her. He convinced her that she was in love with him. He even went so far as to propose to her.
Britney Moore: He asked her to marry him?
    Benson: Yes.
Britney Moore: It's that stupid ring. That's why she's been so happy.
Benson: What did she say? What... what did she tell you?
Britney Moore: That, um, that me and her and Greg, we were gonna all live together, you know, and everything was gonna be okay. And then she'd just been babbling on about, like, this Romeo and Juliet stuff, which I... oh, my God. What did she do? What did I do?
  • Parental Incest: At first it looks to be the case, but it turns out to be a case of gaslighting.
  • Shout-Out: The title is from Romeo and Juliet, as Gregory had used it as a way to groom his victim into thinking they were Star-Crossed Lovers.
  • Wounded Gazelle Gambit: Averted. Gregory tries to do this when Britney stabs him in the face after learning the truth of his manipulation of her and grooming of her younger sister. Olivia and Fin show him zero sympathy.
    Gregory: Help me! I'm bleeding!
Fin: Shut up, she should've killed you!
