Peggy and Dale find themselves entangled in dire situations brought on by their ego and ignorance: Peggy volunteers to sell kitchen supplies for a scam company after trying to sell houses in the gated community of Arlen Heights, while Dale is on the run from the man whose name he uses as an alias (Rusty Shacklefordnote ).
This episode contains examples of:
- The Con: The Wassanasongs trick Peggy into thinking they're going to move when in reality, they were looking for a patsy to get her into signing the contract so that she'll be the one who has to pay for them. Peggy almost does this to Luanne, but the guilt makes her change her mind.
- Even Evil Has Standards: Ted and Cindy make it clear they duped Peggy out of desperation rather than malice as they explain how utterly relentless Cozy Kitchen turned out to be.
- Faking the Dead: In a desperate attempt to get away from Cozy Kitchen and Rusty Shackleford, Peggy and Dale try to fake their deaths, but their plan fails every time.
- Judy Barnes allows Peggy to get out of her contract, provided they lie to Cozy Kitchen and say she's dead. Peggy agrees, provided Judy buys an expensive house.
- Special Guest: Chris Elliott as Chris Sizemore, Peri Gilpin as Judy and Phil Hendrie as Roger.
- Oh, Crap!: Dale has this reaction when he realizes the alias he's been using is a real person whom he thought was dead.
- Real After All: After several seasons of Dale using "Rusty Shackleford" as an alias, we find out there was a real Rusty whom Dale believed was dead. The actual Rusty shows up at Dale's house to explain he only moved away and demands Dale stop using his name.
- Reports of My Death Were Greatly Exaggerated: Turns out Rusty Shackleford is alive and well, and out to get Dale for stealing his identity.
- Tranquil Fury: You can see the rage hidden in Judy's smile when she finds out Peggy gave away her inventory thinking they were free samples.
- The Villain Knows Where You Live: Cozy Kitchen stalks Peggy to the point where they try following Peggy. The Wassanasongs tried to hide from them by going to their private island resort in the middle of nowhere, only for Cozy Kitchen to follow them in speedboats.
