"Kim!"
Monkey Fist, up to his usual tricks, summons the Yono in an effort to get the Han and become a more powerful Monkey Master. This crosses over with Ron's worries about being a good big brother when it turns out that Monkey Fist will come after his little sister, Hana.

This episode contains examples of the following tropes:

  • Alas, Poor Villain: Kim and Ron feel pity for Monkey Fist once they see him Taken for Granite.
Ron: (sadly) Path of the Yono, path of the Yono.
  • All Up to You: After Kim, Rufus and Sensei are turned into statues, Yori is unable to continue on and tells Ron that it's up to him and Hana to stop Monkey Fist and Yono.
  • And I Must Scream: Kim, Rufus, Sensei, and Monkey Fist are all turned into statues; Monkey Fist permanently so, and it is unclear if they are conscious for this or not. If they aren't, that would disqualify them from this trope.
  • The Anticipator: When Kim and Ron go to Yamanouchi, Yori tells Ron that Sensei has been expecting him. Ron thinks it has something to do with him learning the truth about his baby sister, while Yori is under the mistaken impression that they came to help them in their time of need, although neither Kim or Ron were made aware that the school was in danger.
  • Badly Battered Babysitter: In the beginning of the episode, Ron has to babysit his little sister, Hana. Hana proceeds to crawl on the walls and ceiling, and destroy the house. Then a couple nights later, Ron and Kim both babysit Hana, and the same thing happens, with Hana even climbing on top of the refrigerator and jumping off. Luckily, Ron catches her.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Ron goes solo against Monkey Fist to protect Hana.
  • Cuteness Proximity: After mistaking Kim for an intruder and holding her own against her, Yori suddenly gushes over Hana when she first sees her, leaving Ron upset that his baby sister gets all the love. Justified, as Yori tells Ron that Hana is like a little sister to her.
  • Deal with the Devil: Monkey Fist makes a pact with the Yono in order to use the destroyer however he pleases, believing that walking the dark path of the Yono will lead him to his destiny. Once Monkey Fist is defeated by Hana, Yono decides to honor the agreement, resulting in Monkey Fist being turned into a statue and is submerged underground along with Yono's temple.
  • Designated Girl Fight: Kim and Yori briefly duke it out after the masked ninja mistakes our heroine for an intruder. Once Yori knocks Kim's helmet off and recognizes her, she immediately stops and apologizes for the confusion before unmasking and revealing herself.
  • Evil Is Not a Toy: Monkey Fist awakens the Yono to use his power to conquer the world, and ends up meeting his ultimate fate instead.
  • Expecting Someone Taller: After releasing Yono, Monkey Fist wasn't impressed with his appearance, even almost referring to the trope by calling him short...until Yono demonstrated his powers.
  • Graceful Loser: The Yono. After Hana beats him and Monkey Fist, he bows to her in a sign of respect.
  • Heroic BSoD:
    • Ron is terrified for Hana when he learns she was placed into his care so he could prepare her for her fight against the Yono. Since no one told him, he didn't teach her anything he thought could help her. He's driven to tears at the thought of dooming her and considers himself the worst brother ever. Thankfully, he gets better.
    • Yori goes into a state of shock when Rufus and Sensei are turned into statues, and would have met the same fate had Kim not knocked her out of the way in time. After Kim is turned, she is either too distraught to continue fighting or realizes Yono's in another league, and tells Ron that it's up to him and Hana now. She gets better once Sensei is restored.
  • Insult Backfire: When Kim tries to insult Monkey Fist's intelligence, she accidentally reveals that Ron's sister, Hana, is "The Han" Monkey Fist is looking for. When he realizes this, he slaps his forehead and realizes "How blind I've been!"
  • Ironic Echo: Ron's parents have failed to tell him things until they happen in the past and then answered, "This is our way of telling you." At the end of the episode, Ron tells them (to explain the state of the home) that "Han is a ninja baby" and then glibly responds with the same phrase when they ask why he didn't tell them.
    • It's Played for Drama even earlier when he finds out about Hana being "the Han", who he was supposed to teach to fight. However when Sensei pulls the "This is our way of telling you" line, Ron rightfully freaks out that nobody told him something so vitally important.
  • It's All My Fault: When Ron returns with Hana to Yamanouchi and finding it in ruins, along with finding Sensei, his pet and girlfriend turned into statues, he blames himself for not being there to stop it.
  • Killed Off for Real: Monkey Fist meets his ultimate fate in this episode, and is permanently turned into a statue after being defeated by Hana. Although he gets a cameo later in the series, he's still a statue.
  • Lampshade Hanging: Ron again comments on how annoying it is that his Mystical Monkey Powers never seem to manifest when he needs them to.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Kim accidentally informs Monkey Fist that "the Han" is Ron's little sister Hana.
    • Sensei finds himself realizing a little too late that not telling Ron the truth about Hana until now was not a good idea.
  • Poor Communication Kills: As Ron puts it, if he'd known he was supposed to teach Hana some ninja skills in order for her to fight a supernatural threat, he would have actually taught her some ninja skills.
  • Reunion Kiss: Kim and Ron's first on-screen kiss in the season (outside of flashbacks/dream sequences) is treated like this. After Kim is reverted back to normal after being turned into a statue, sounding terrified at the thought of being petrified forever, she and Ron run towards each other and kiss. It only lasts about a second, as Hana quickly jumps in and breaks them apart.
  • Running Gag: "The ceiling!" is emphasized by Ron (and later Kim) about Hana's ability to reach it when babysitting her.
  • Shout-Out: "The Flippies" show is based on The Wiggles.
  • Stunned Silence: Yori delivers a brief one when Ron tells her that he plans to leave Yamanouchi after he gets some information about his baby sister. She then laughs it off thinking he's joking about abandoning her and Sensei in their time of need, not realizing that he and Kim are unaware of the situation she speaks of.
  • Taken for Granite: Kim, Rufus and Sensei are turned into statues during the fight against Yono. Monkey Fist's monkey ninjas are also hit later on. When Monkey Fist is defeated by Hana, he is transformed as well, but permanently. Everyone else returns to normal.
  • Tranquil Fury:
    • Ron breaks out of his second brief Heroic BSoD after seeing petrified Rufus and Kim, when Monkey Fist taunts him about it.
Monkey Fist: Admiring my handiwork, not?
Ron: Monkey Fist, dude, you are going down. Hard.
    • When Statue Kim falls off the temple, Ron looks down at her, with no indication that her petrification is reversible, and gives Monkey Fist a full on Death Glare before the fight resumes.
  • Wall Run: Hana can run up the walls and even around the ceiling.
  • Wax On, Wax Off: Hana manages to fend off and avoid both the Yono and Monkey Fist by emulating the Flippy Dance. And little before that, Ron teaching Hana how to flip a page allowed her to deflect an incoming rock by using the same movement.
  • We Can Rule Together: Monkey Fist attempts to sway Hana by telling her they can rule the world together with the destructive power of the Yono. Being a toddler, she doesn't quite get it.
  • We Will Meet Again: Early on, in the Museum of Ancient Artifacts and Antiquities, or the MAAA.
Monkey Fist: I don't want to spoil the surprise. Just know that our next encounter will be at a time of my choosing.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: After Monkey Fist is turned to stone, his monkey ninjas apparently run off and are never seen again.
